So it says "Ignores crew shaken or crew stunned on a 2+" under Daemonic possession. The bs and crew results seem irrelevant as with the flamer and the absence of transportees they don't effect it.

But the 2+ is what I am confused about.

As far as I see, this could mean the following:

that after a pen is rolled on the vehicle chart, that I then roll a d6 and if it is 2+ I ignore shaken or stunned

or

When I roll my 5++ that if I get a 2, 3, or 4 I then ignore shaken or stunned on the subsequent pen vehicle chart roll.

If its neither please tell me, or if its one of those, I will be trying out my heldrake for the first time in a few hours. pg # and raw are appreciated.

It means that if you fail your invuln and a shaken or stunned result is rolled on the chart, you get a roll to try to ignore the result.

After you suffer a Shaken or stunned damage ,you may roll to ignore those effects. There IS a point as firing snap-shots will prevent you to shoot the flamer and stunned flyers have to go straight ahead 18" their next turn.

Thanks that clears it up.. And yes I understand there is a point to this, thats why I asked. What I was refering to as pointless was the beginning and end of the rule which declared my bs was 3 (flamers dont use bs) and how it effected transported troops as it cannot do that. I was not refering to the shaken or stunned results, sorry for the miscommunication.

It effects a Heldrake with flamer alot less than other vehicles. It's not a rule soley for the Heldrake.
For Land Raider it makes a lot of difference for example.

Afaik helldrakes don't have quad-guns as an option, and vehicles cannot fire weapon emplacements.

Vehicles can no longer fire weapon emplacements, thanks to Errata.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Heldrakes have more options than just the flamer.
Demonic Possession can be on more than just Heldrakes.

The 1-in-30 chance of the vehicle devouring Abaddon is just icing. Save yourself 5 points and an occasional Warmaster and just buy extra armor...

Which is why the Daemonic Possession upgrade is really good for it, mostly ignoring those results.
