Hi all,
I'm relatively new to
40k and playing
DE. I'm joining a group of players and will be facing space marines, imperial guard, tau, orcs, necrons, chaos marines and tyrannids (All 500 point armies)
Many of the players seem to be straying away from using vehicles in the hope to field more units, due to small point pool, and are mainly going for ground troops with a few exceptions.
Now even as a new
DE player I know that if I go ground I will most likely be destroyed. Therefore I've put together an army of sorts to deal with infantry and the odd armoured unit/vehicle, it may be good, it may be horrific i'm not entirely sure as i'm pretty new school.
If anyone could offer any advice, criticisms, tactics or opinions that would be fantastic
Haemonculus (w/ Venom Blade, Liquifier Gun) -65 points
4xWracks
Venom (w/ extra cannon)
-105 points
5xWarriors (w/ Blaster)
Venom (w/ extra cannon)
-125 points
5xWyches
Venom (w/ extra cannon)
-115 points
3x Reavers (w/ cluster caltrops)
-86 points
Total :496 points
What do you think? I'm unsure about most of it
tbh but it seems like it could be potentially ok? I'm concerned that the reavers may be to few but their turbo boost + caltrops seems pretty nice. Are the venoms with my troop choices + extra cannons good choices? I've heard a lot of praise for the venom but i'm still new to
DE
I imagined that the two melee based units could unload the 12 venom shots before dismounting and going melee, if need be. I chose Hae to get a cheap
HQ choice plus I get Wracks which have 2 x venom blade. Hae also has a venom blade and I gave him the liquefier to hurt space marines and power armour opponents. The Wyches don't have any upgrades like haywire grenades as there are limited vehicles to go up against. I chose these as they are fairly cheap and , if they can get to melee a decent unit...
The Warrior unit can attempt to annoy armoured enemies with the blaster and venom and the Reavers can generally harass anything that needs it etc?
Any opinions etc would be really helpful
Thanks
