So I am coming back to the game and while I wanted to aim for a 25 point Terminus list I think that will be a project for when I am more comfortable with the game again.

So that being said I am looking for a fun, competitive army that can be either warmachine or hordes at 25 points. If anyone has any ideas I will take any ideas Thank you

Now that's an open ended question

So many viable casters/builds for 25 points throughout both systems...

Would you like to take a stab at either a faction, or at least a sort of play style you'd like to look at? Any sort of budget that we should be mindful of?

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. I just wanted suggestions about what people are passionate about, then I would go do some research and make a list. I am fine with almost any play style.

Why not just do the 25 point Terminus list? He's perfectly viable at that point level.

Terminus is not going anywhere and the only two factions I have ever really looked at which would be protectorate and cryx, so I am just trying to find interesting things to research. I am just looking to see what people like

There are fans of nearly every caster and nearly every unit, and definitely every army. There really isn't a specific answer for what people are passionate about; nearly everything in the game is loved depending who you ask.

Well what do you like?

Quite a few things. I was originally going to play Menoth because I love the Harbinger model, but when rummaging through the store's stock I found eSkarre's model and loved it more. My first lists catered to her: Satyxis Raiders, Deathjack, etc.

Little bit trickier to pull off at the point level, but eButcher doom reaver spam is always entertaining. Has some horrible matchups (Caine comes to mind), but what skew list doesn't?

My theoretical list:
Butcher2
-Marauder
-War Dog
Fenris
Yuri the Axe
Doom Reavers x3

You could adjust that list by dropping Yuri and including 3 escorts for the doom reavers. That way they get tough and silence in case debris gets popped early. Also would rather have a jugg over the marauder but that's personal preference

Merc lists are really fun. I like running highborn contract with rhulic war casters. Lots of flavor in your options and they can be fun and/or competitive, especially with the new earth breaker.

71 pts khador - 6 war casters
41 pts merc highborn - 3 warcasters

Escorts are 2 points each, so wouldn't work. I also personally like the Marauder as he gives you great spot removal, even if his target doesn't die, and the feat lets him clean up slammed targets with ease.

Plus Fenris provides silence to the DR anyway, so you are paying two points for a unit to have tough.

Menoth is pretty easy for 25 points - lots of options.

I'd go:

Reznik (+6)

Reckoner (8)
Vanqusierher (8)

Choir (2)
Vassal (2)
Wracks (1)

Max Errants W/UA (10)

Done.

If you want, flip out the Errants for either Zealots W/UA or Temple Flameguard W/UA, both changes would leave 2 points for a solo like Gorman.

Not a power list, but designed to be aggressive and fun eFeora or pKreoss could easily be dropped into those lists as well, though they'd probably prefer a Redeemer over the Vanquisher, and two points on Gorman for colossal control.

I bought into Cygnar and Cryx when the game came out in what is now MK1 liking Cygnar the most due to looks. I picked up eSkarre as soon a she was released and has been my favorite caster in the game ever since. my list still caters to her (Deathjack, Satyxis, ect.) and Cygnar has long since been sold. The point I am trying to make i guess is buy eSkarre!

P.S. Look at my avatar.

I played Reznik before and did enjoy him but want something new...and to be honest my 15 point list was very close to that haha.

Think it was...

Reznik
-Reck
-Vanq

Choir
Vassal

I had something else but that was the crux of it. Thank you for everything so far guys, give me some stuff to research. Been looking at butcher, and looking at the circle and Skorne. I am just on the fence, thus I made this thread to try and find different things to look at. Thank you all so far for your response.

They are all fun and competitive at 26 points. So play all of them.

If you want a serious answer you are going to have to provide more information about what you like.

I have not played 25 points in a long time but I was working on Kraye a lot over the latter half of 2013 and I still think he is one of the most interesting casters to play.

Points: 25/25
Captain Jeremiah Kraye (*6pts)
* Minuteman (5pts)
* Minuteman (5pts)
* Centurion (9pts)
* Squire (2pts)
Rangers (5pts)
Stormblade Captain (2pts)
Stormsmith Stormcaller (1pts)
Stormsmith Stormcaller (1pts)
Stormsmith Stormcaller (1pts)
