One of our members wants a poll on here to determine his army.

All he will say is that in all the games he plays, he plays archers or assassins.

Every time you start a new 'what army would be good for me/someone' thread, a kitten is murdered.

But Ret/Legion (for Warmachine/Hordes respectively)

You can add khador (kayazy, eliminators, man hunters etc) and circle (tharn, especially blood pack) to the mix too then. Or any faction that can hire the Nyss hunters. Protectorate can do assassin well too, with Thyra, and daughters of the flame.

So yeah, if it's as vague as 'archers or assassins', then that's all of them.

True, but whenever someone says 'I love archers and assassins' my mind tends to jump to 'I like elves as well', since those are usually the races that excel at those classes in games (where I assume he picked up his like for the styles). I know it isn't always true, but often it is.

Archers and assassins? Ret has a unit that is both and then one unit of each on the side.

Birds fly, fish swim, J0kerMTT makes 'suggest me a faction' threads. It is a fact of life.

But on a less sarcastic prickish tone, I think that Legion is probably the best fit as a faction, its fasted, has a strong ranged game, and does assassination runs well.

ret or legion. Both have assassins (basically ninjas) and archers (or crossbowmen) of various flavors.

Though for a better answer he should give us an idea of his playstyle, what models he likes the looks of, etc. Questions like, 'what should I play?' are pretty stupid without some background info with it.

Nearly everyone rise gets that merc too!

Protectorate have arguably 2 assassin/ninja casters (Amon and Thyra), units (daughters, errands), solos (seneschal, order of the fist, nicia).

Khador have units (Nyss hunter Mercs, kayazy assassins, eliminators, croe's cutthroats) and solos (Manhunters)

Legion have archers, striders, the ulk cavalry, and Lilith, along with quite a number of solos.

Shrug. You can do this all day. point is 'archers and assassins' is a pretty poor standard to use, since most factions can do it.
