I am surprised that there isn't a thread discussing one of the finest inventions of mankind. Last summer I was introduced to my first quad, The Reverend, crafted by Avery Brewing Company. I thoroughly enjoyed it and then discovered that there are numerous quads considered to be far superior. Apparently I have been drinking sludge all of my life!

What are your favorite beers, be they commonplace or more exquisite? I have always been a fan of lagers and have consumed more Heineken and Dos Equis than I care to count. Recently I have been trying various ales and on a whim purchased a six pack of Shiner Wild Wild Hare Pale Ale and was pleasantly surprised. While I am not looking to expand my midsection, I am very much interested in tasting new brews. So have it and share your experiences with various beers!

The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy

Drinking the beer won't make you fat.

Eating crap whilst drinking the beers will make you fat.

Out in Oregon, grab a stout called Terminator, made by a company called McMinnamins. It puts Guinness to shame. When I can't get my hands on that stuff, my dad has taken up making his own beer and he's gotten pretty good at it-I get a fairly decent flow of unique beer each time I visit. I'm nice enough to share with friends too-I think it's why so many people keep me around.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I don't drink beer that much anymore, but if I go out drinking I'd like a Leffe Blond. Although I always have Carlsberg in the fridge for my mate if he comes round.

Clearly none of the others were good enough, as this one is specifically for beer

The problem is beer is full of empty calories, and people who tend to drink a lot of it don't usually exercise much anyway. That's why it "makes" some people fat.

I really like Sailor Jerry spiced rum but if I have to drink beer I just drink Bud Platinum. Yes, I know it's Bud, but it's also 6% ABV and I don't exactly drink beer for the taste.

Silly Americans, if only you had access to proper beer countries.

My main one these days is Grimbergen Triple, great taste, 9%.

I just finished off a batch of cider I made. Cider's easier to make at home than beer.

Cider's easy. Just a 2.5 gallon glass jug or a Mr. Beer keg. Put 2 gallons of apple juice (the real stuff, nothing from concentrate but if it's homogenized, it's probably ok). Add a packet of cider yeast that you can pick up for like a $1 at a brew supply store. Store it out of direct sunlight and keep it at about 65-70 degrees for a few weeks then you're ready to bottle.

I call it my intro to craft beer. I have opened the eyes of so many crap beer drinkers with this. Its a nice IPA, perfectly bitter but not overpowering, the aroma alone will make you want to drink it, its perfect.

Well, my "normal" beer would be Guinness, but in general I tend to like stouts. Most recently, though, I have embarked on a quest to sample a wide range of different Beers.

This is made somewhat more challenging by the fact that we aren't allowed glass beer bottles in res

So in the past couple weeks, I have had Beers with Names ranging from "Warsteiner" to "Thirsty Beaver".

I's been fun so far- some good, some not so good, one that went up like 'Ol Faithful (I think my bag had been knocked over). Haven't had anything that I would describe as "Bad", mostly just been "Not my style".

When Im doing yard work, or house work in the summer its Red Stripe, or some light smooth lager

I don't always drink beer for the taste, but when I do, I drink Newcastle Brown Ale, because Dos Equis sucks lol. And it costs too much.

My go-to recently has been a wonderful concoction called a "black and blue" so named because it is Guinness on top of Blue Moon.

As far as styles go I'm not that picky but in general I'd say I'm a wheat beer fan. That said, I'll drink anything that's not really bitter.

I just thought we were naming one. I just came from beerfest in Cleveland, we have some great local crafts breweries here. It would take me awhile to name all my favorites.

I don't drink much beer (I'm mostly into Scotch or Vodka). But, the few I like are: Shiner Bock (why, yes, I'm in Texas), Killian's Irish Red, and Guinness. I also like Chimay, although I usually only buy it when I make a beef and onion stew recipe that uses it.
