Subject: Basilisk range limit?

Quick-fingered Warlord Moderatus

So i can't find the blasted rules anywhere.... what happens when the basilisk shoots within the 36" of it's first range?

Common confusion in 6th as GW did a switch a roo.
When firing within its minimum distance (or when it fires barrage) it never minuses the BS.
All targets beyond 36" that are in your LOS is when you can minus the BS.
Its worded like junk, but that's how it works.

Very, barrage is crazy good in this edition as it essentially works as a sniper weapon, wounds are removed from the center of the blast template out. So against characters or heavy weapons it often picks them out.
I myself use a single shadow weaver in my Eldar and he MVPs in most games earning 3 times or more of its points pack.

In the last edition it couldn't fire inside this range at all without clear line of sight. So yes, it's useful and a big improvement!
Keep those Basilisks hidden and fire away.

Could you quote the page? I can't seem to find it as well.
Edit: finally found it. Because of the barrage rule, the Basilisk is able to fire less minimum range but its considered indirect fire, so do not get to minus BS. Page 34 of BRB
