Hey, question about Jink.

I states if a model moves flat out of turbo boosts they would get the improved Jink save , which are similar to Run moves yet it never says that if you Run you benefit from the improved Jink. Is this right and if so why is this? It seems counter intuitive that models get this improved save for moving extra but even if a model makes a Run move it doesn't get this save.

Thanks

Yes, it's correct that running does not improve your jink save.

As to why... I am curious what units you're thinking of that both have jink saves and can run. Jink is normally for bikes, skimmers, and evading flyers, none of which can run.

I think maybe I'm misunderstanding the intent of the rule. I thought it was specifically for vehicles yet saw that FMCs can gain it, despite being very quick on there feet there's no rule that allows Beasts or Cavalry the save? Running or not?

Correct, Beasts and Cavalry do not get Jink, no matter how fast they go.

The intent behind that, I couldn't tell you. A bike can jink at 0.5", cavalry cannot jink even if they move 12" and run another 12" (e.g. Seekers).

FMCs can run when Swooping. They can also gain Jink by Diving if shot at when Swooping.

No idea why they don't get a +1 - maybe because they don't actually have Jink at the time they ran?

Interesting. Flyers can get +1 to their Jink for going Flat-out even though they need to Evade to get it. But then, it takes an awfully large table for a Flat-out Flyer to not simply escape off a board edge...

I'm not sure where it states that this the save provided by evade is improved by moving flat-out. It is similar to go to ground in that you declare making an evade move when your opponent rolls to hit.

It is also worth noting that since the FAQ. A flyer can now gain a 4+ Jink save By only moving 18 1/2"

Well they still have to declare "evade" if they want to get the jink rule. But I didn't know that this save would be improved if I had moved flat-out on my turn. Cheers for that.
