Are Normal (Mark V) Dreadnoughts obscured enough behind an ADL to claim the cover save? I've been checking, and it's close, wanted to see how others feel about it...

Is the Dread >25% obscured?
If Yes, then 3+ cover save.
If no, then no cover save.

Please remember to factor in the base.

Lots and lots and lots.

Not possible to give you that information.

How tall is the model shooting at the dred?

Is the model standing in elevated terrain?

The only way to tell is to get down and look from the firing models eyes to see if its 25% obscured.

That way,then left

And it'd be a 4+ save if you have that 25% cover, not 3+

How long is a piece of string?

The only way to get an answer to your question is to get down to a model's eye view and check as many things influence the answer to that question.

From every infantry model I've ever seen making a shooting attack at the Dreadnought, the dread had enough concealment to gain a cover save. Monstrous Creatures or vehicles might be a different story, but most ground pounders are short enough to give up cover to the walker. I have run a dred gunline list, and only once run into a situation where a model was tall enough to not give up a cover save to my dred, and that was a Riptide.
