Damned shame that there's no other arm. I realise a fist wouldn't reach the ground, but a big power lance would've been nice.
That's a good call!
It has been so long since I played a game of SPACE MARINE/TITAN LEGIONS, I forgot about that option!
Maybe that's the direction FW will go with their first add-on kit?
Though I'd much prefer that the lance be in plastic, and not resin...
Well the Lances were for Knight Lancers, which was a different type of Knight, with a different type of body. The should have included the fist option since they included the Melta, to make Knight Errant.
If these sell well I wonder if they will make the other classes too?
The shock lance that all knights had isn't mentioned specifically, but maybe thats why they get all those close combat special rules.

These look awesome and that new faceplate looks great, although I prefer the exposed mechanical skull look myself.
The giant chainsword is and isn't a problem for me. It looks a wee bit on the small side, but at the same time it's at a perfect height to strike similarly sized or bigger opponents. I figure anything smaller (like those killa kans) would just get stomped on.

Wow, fairly broken a little. Nice looking Warmachine models. I don't think I will be playing them, they are a bit too OP. My Spartan is 340 and not near as powerful as these things. One wont be too bad, if someone were to field an army of them in a friendly pick up game, I am picking up my stuff and finding a new opponent. An army of them would be interesting for a special scenario where I could build a force in advance specifically to deal with it but I cant think of a TAC list that could handle them that I use.
|
If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

Dreadknights and if you hunker it down a bit contemptors. That's what the 4.5" leviathan is good for counts-as. And it looks good like that. Alternatively for those of use that like to make cohesive looking allied units it's also good on an elevated stand as a riptide.

I like the armored up one as a stand-in for a riptide in my "Dark Mechanicus" forces but yeah, it makes an awesome dreadknight too.
The Knight is literally smack in the middle size-wise between the mini and full sized leviathans. If GW didn't plan it that way then they lucked out.

You don't count Chaos Marines as a "Space Marine" army.
Plus there's only 4 Space Marine armies anyways.
Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and Space Marines.
Grey Knights are their 'own' faction that is part of the Imperium, same as Sisters of Battle being their own faction that is part of the Imperium.
From the wording of the White Dwarf snippet which is on the front page--you'll be able to take them though.

Sisters are not marines because of a lot of obvious reasons that you should be able to find out on your own.

The fire base support cadre dataslate has this which might help Bane of Angels: All units in this formation have the Preferred Enemy (Space Marines) special rule. However, all enemy Space Marine units have the Hatred (Tau Firebase Support Cadre) special rule. The category ‘Space Marines’ comprises all units taken from the following codexes: Space Marines, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Grey Knights and Space Wolves.
Thus GK are SM but CSM are not.

Agree on the small head, although will want to see the model in person before making a final decision. Making the head the size of the head cowling would make it big enough for the pilot to fit into. Might be something for third party producers to look into. I'm sure alternate heads would be popular.
Might be fun to modify the skull head on the red one and give it four light sabers (General Grievous).
