Hi folks,... confirmation here from the team that you will be able to up your pledge, or even get in later during the pledge manager period. This is quite similar to what they did with MYTH (though they are not building the PM themselves this time). So if you missed out,... watch this space. When the PM goes up, you will have the opportunity to get on-board and/or up your pledge,... add on more stuff etc.

And...we're back.
I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing Easter weekend.

We’ve received a lot of emails about failed (or screwed up pledge levels). Worry not, we’ll take care of you. If you had a pledge that failed, you’ll have access to the PM when it opens. We can’t do anything until it opens.

If you had an amount (either less or greater) charged by Amazon Payments, unfortunately, you’ll have to deal with them directly. We cannot go to them on your behalf and argue money. I can promise that in the KS, if you wanted to back at a higher amount you’ll have a chance to increase your pledge level. If you intended to provide less money, there is nothing WE can do. However, YOU can open dialogue with Amazon Payments and try to figure out what happened.

If this is your first KS, then welcome!

This is how it works. In a couple months we will open up the pledge manager. This system allows us to better track your information and for you to assign any money overfunded to those items you wanted. The information on the pledge manager will be communicated through a KS update, so please don’t ignore updates outright.

We put out a lot of updates, highlighting where things are with production and shipping. Your next update will probably happen tomorrow. It will show some of the finished sculpts you haven’t seen and will detail what all is finished (and what is work-in-progress) among the Base Games and Mission Packs.

Looking forward to seeing what the SG's are for the survey. I know I only went in for the base $120 pledge so far and will be adding the all expansion pack $100 add-on once the manager gets here and I imagine more than a few people will be doing the same. This hit the to good to hold out level toward the end.

So, do we know for sure that the Op-For / Civilian figures will be some version of the "resin plastic" Studio McVey / Mantic / Privateer use, while the Mercs will be cast in the "hard plastic" that GW uses?
Are the Mercs coming on sprues, then?

Or do they mean that Op-For / Civilian figures will be FFG-style "boardgame plastic," while the Mercs will be "resin plastic?"

Hopefully Wave 2 (or Wave 1 for the rest of us) of MYTH ships and is delivered before they close the PM for MERCS...

They just said that their shipment of Myth should be in today, so they should start packing and shipping for the next 2 weeks. And from the sound of it, they aren't looking to do a PM for several months.

This gets a bit confusing at the end, sorry. The KS posting system is a bit of a chore. It doesn't like documents that are styled and it REALLY doesn't like cutting and pasting.

Happy to see I'll be getting a janitor in that mix!

Every tabletop game needs a good janitor to help keep things in perspective.

Plus someone needs to clean up all the gunshot wounds splattering the cubicles up on 12.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Wow, I had no idea they let people in after the KS finished for Myth. I would have dove in! Doggone it!

I already went in for $200 + All in + The Cleaner figure. Might up the ante in the PM for some of the other miniatures.

I am the one you warned me of

The miniature versions of the current MERCs generally impress me.

There are a few newer sculpts on the MegaCon site, all of which look like they'll be included in Recon, that I'm less excited about, though:

FCC Saboteur

Scientist

Lost Margin Raider

For me, they don't uphold the standard set by the current tabletop releases.

(These are currently available metal versions, not works in progress.)

The saboteur is as crappy as what they showed before. Maybe it is not too late to accept the honest constructive criticisms they were offered and fix that.

I'd say the saboteur is actually the least bad of those three...

That Lost Margin Raider is some straight up 40k knockoff from some dead 90s company. Those proportions are not helping much. I sadly like it!

That scientist is the one that stands out the worst to me.

Will happily monitor dakka for news of the janitor.

Those sculpts have actually been floating around their webstore for some time. Oddly, they haven't been available outside of the store. I kind of have a sneaking suspicion that they're actually some of their earliest sculpts. They just seem much rougher than the others.

Well, you can always say about it privately or publicly on the KS comments.

Its one of the first things I said is a golden opportunity for them to do and so far it seems they skip it.

The worst part is the following, when they commit to plastics, they will have to keep these sculpts for a long time.

They did talk about being able to make minor modifications to current models,.... As the plastic molds have not yet been made,.... So the "greens" or "reds" or whatever they use for the plastic mold process are yet to be made.

That said,... I'm sure that Mose will be the same,... But they mentioned this specifically with regard to the saboteur,.... That they might be able to adjust how he is holding the cocktail,..etc.

Time will only tell,......

These models will NOT be changed?

They are, in a word, horrible.

If this is what we can expect for most of the models in this game, I'm certainly not going to be upping my pledge from $10 to $220.

I'm sure it is just the angle. Once they show a 3D view you'll see they are truly wondrous sculpts.

But aren't most of the Merc sculpts themselves pretty decent?

I mean, yeah, that scientist is nowhere near what I would call impressive, but I thought stuff like the CCC and the Kemvar figures looked pretty decent.

Some are really decent. Then you have the EU Inc sculpts... A really mixed bag.

There are some fantastic sculpts in the MERCS range. Most of the CCC team, most of the KemVar stuff, the old House Leader-Lady (all below), etc...

Spoiler:

Funny enough, however, many of their best sculpts are also some of their oldest. I can't think of a fairly recent, "new" sculpt from that I felt I was anywhere near the old stuff (though I haven't followed them closely).

Not sure if they changed sculptors?

I can't believe this one ever made it past "QC" to make it to for sale, and even though it obviously did, I can't believe it is still for sale!

To be fair I did not pay close attention to their releases, so this and the raider eluded my attention, they are dire sculpts and I will agree they should not have hit retail.

As I have said before it is their golden opportunity to redo most of their sculpts to a modern higher level and in contrast with metal and resin, plastic moulds are committing.

If they botch it it may be dire for them.

These were limited run sculpts for use with a campaign, so they were never "retail"...... Only available direct.

I have no idea if these will be the same,..... The scientist is really bad in that pic,.... Never seen it or any painted versions to judge otherwise.
