Hi all,

I was wondering if characteristic tests, such as initiative tests, always use the base characteristic? I cant find anything explicit in the book.

The specific case I have in mind is:
White Scars & Space Wolves vs. Eldar. Grav bikers strip a wound from a Wraithknight with a grav gun (and thus reduces the WK to I1). Can I then go ahead and JotWW the WK on his concussed (Initiative 1) state - or is it based on the profile?

I appreciate the help, thanks

I don't know the concussed special rule, but I believe you would Jaws him on the concussed I1 state as all shooting takes place simultaneously and would use the reduced I so long as the rule makes no exception.

This is probably a bad example, but if you entropic strike (in CC) a vehicle, other characters with the same initiative or lower strike against the reduced armor value.

Q: Do you roll to see if a hit with the Entropic Strike special rule
reduces a vehicle’s armour before rolling for armour penetration? As all
attacks at the same Initiative are simultaneous, does this mean that
other models with the same Initiative will also roll to penetrate against
the reduced armour value? (p29)
A: Yes to both questions.

Since Concussive states their I is lowered, and not something like "strikes at" like unwieldy, this should work. Due to timing you would need to Jaws it from a different unit, as it doesn't take the I drop until it suffers the wound; lacking other reasons why it can't kill the WK, your good to go.

What does the BRB specifically state about the statistic when you take the test?

I do a similar combo using grav concussion and blind tests with my cerberus launchers and the burning blade.

iirc it doesn't matter since the person firing is the one who allocates what order armor saves / wounds are taken in and thus can queue jaws at the end as opposed to cc where the opponent gets to choose the allocation of wounds.

Jaws doesn't deal in wounds, and as all shooting happens simultaneously would happen before to wound rolls even occur. So no, it would have to be a separate unit with Jaws to take advantage.

As above. Jaws doesnt cause wounds, just char tests. Where you place those tests in the sequence is tricky when combined with normal shooting, however certainly could not interact with the Concussive rule, as it would have to be at least be activated by cause wounds, logically
