Writing a 1000 point TAC list, so pretty strict on points.

My Overlord's already going to have a Sempiternal Weave (I consider it auto-take), but I'm just going to keep him with a Staff of Light and no Mindshackle Scarabs because he's not meant to be in combat.

Might stick him with an additional Staff of Light Overlord (needed a second Court) and a Veil-tek attached to a squad of Immortals (mobile scoring, as well as Look-Out-Sir fodder).

• Normally with Immortals I'd never consider giving them a ResOrb as its not very points efficient, but with 3, possibly 4, HQ in the unit, it will definitely be worth considering to keep that much of a points investment alive.

• A Chrono-tek is most useful with a Phase Shifter or ResOrb, but by itself I'm not sure.

• And an Overlord with a 3++ in addition to his 2+ is a bitch to take out.

...
What do?

Phase shifter and chronotek I would go for unless in a 15-20 man blob... then all 3.

Septernal Weave + Chrono-tek isn't fool proof but works REALLY well in a lot of cases. Normal 2+ save with 1 reroll per phase. Add troop bodyguards to look out sir on a 2+ and if you fail the LOS then you practically have yet another 2+ save.

If the Overlord already has a 2+ armor save and a group of immortals to hide behind, a ResOrb gives the most benefit I think.

Unless you fail your 25% casualties morale check, or you're hit with AP3 or lower, the immortals are nearly as durable as terminators with a ResOrb nearby.

Sekhmet - Dynasty 4000pts Greenwing - 2000pts Deathguard - 1500pts Daemons of Nurgle - 1000pts ~320pts

The Plantations

Never drop an A Barge. Especially in a low point list.

The Res Orb should be enough, with the Immortals to make the Look Out Sir, he will already be a bitch to kill.

Having a Destructek might be be another option for making the unit a bit more shooty and taking some pot shots rather than attaching another Overlord that could be elsewhere.

Yeah, but I'm a little lacking in anti-MEQ AP3, so I figured two Staff of Lights attached to a bunch of Immortals might be able to put out some semi-decent hurt.

With a 12" range the staff isn't that good. The warscythe is probably the best cc weapon in the game so I consider it a 100% auto take.

IMO Annihilation Barges are one of the best things in the Necron Codex. You can (if you wanted to) max out the heavy support choices, release 12 s7 (with reliably more) TL shots for 270 points. Always have them. This gives you 730 points left to get your immortals and kickass royal court in there. If you have one try and get a GA with 10 or so warriors, maybe with a res lord for mobile objective grabbing. As you said, Sempiternal weave is an auto take for 15 points. While I appreciate the Staff of Light, a Warscythe, for 10 points will be much better. Give him a res orb as well. If you make him a Phaeron, for 20 points, you can rapid fire into a unit and then charge in, where that warscythe much more reliably reaps a hefty death toll. (I'm not sure about the Relentless rule but I'm pretty sure you can do this, fire then charge RF weapons). Now you have pretty much 98 points for whatever. Chronotek, you have 50 Points or something. Then you can squeeze in a 3++.

I don't have my book but the points will be close to your limit. Just my 3c.
