Sororitas. I mean come on they're nastyarse killer-nuns in power armour who look rather good (well at least on some artwork). Sadly buying an (all metal) army of them is probably more expensive than playing 30k. In which case I'd get luna wolves.

Hivemind'd

I have always liked the Imperial Guard (especially when they had doctrines).

If I was to collect a guard army I would try and make the Savlar Chem Dogs. Because an army of thieving, drug addled nutters appeals to me!

Tyranids. Awsome models. Choice between swarm or nidzilla. Has a lot of links with lots of sci fi movies. Great fluff. More different than any other army out there. Oh - and they don't have access to wave serpents, which auto disqualifys half the armies out there.
I had the old dex not the new one and it was awsome.

Space Wolves. Out of any Imperial army, they're the ones I want to collect. And it'd give me a rest from Eldar playstyle.

I was thinking the same thing, I put that option in as a joke...

Black Templars because for me they're the living embodiment of how Space Marines *should* be.

Imperial Guard because I love the idea of weak dudes with space AK47s fighting superhuman baddies, plus some sexy sexy models (ie Mordians and DKoK as mentioned, also love the Vostrovihowdoyouspellthems)

Haven't done the former simply because I'm losing interest in the game, because almost everyone seems to be playing tournament style which isn't my thing. Haven't done the latter because I can't find a playstyle I like for them

Necrons. I'm strictly Orks now as they were my first love in 40k going right back to Epic Titan Legions, but if I had a second army 'Crons would definitely be it.

For why?

They first appeared just after Gorkamorka was released (after subtle references to their presence in the GM fluff) and were incredibly overpowered, intended only as a small scouting force with their power foreshadowing the major threat they would eventually appear as (like they are now). I promptly got a 2k army of them, including some old Chaos Androids & the Ed 209-style Dread from the ancient Space Crusade. By the time their first Codex rolled around tho, I was checking out of the hobby. That said I still familiarised myself with the fluff somewhat (which I really, REALLY liked - especially the C'Tan Void Dragon stuff) so kept a distant interest in them, even after giving all of my old models away.

Fast forward to the present day and getting back into it all, and even with the drastic fluff change in their recent book, I still have that major nostalgic soft spot for them and if time, hobby space & money were no object I'd do a force with headcanon fluff detailing a major Void Dragon loyalist. A bit of a retcon yes but no less fun for it.

Alas though, Orks will be my limit. Just can't cope getting & maintaining two armies with the amount of space I have for things, let alone the money & time.

I would like a small Chaos Space Marine army. I have a few models, but not enough to play agame with.

I guess that playing Orks, Necrons & Tyranids makes me anti-Imperium. The Chaos models do look great. And as they say, the bad guys have all the fun

Love the idea and the models, can't make myself paint that many gaunts.

Necrons.
Conceptually, visually, and fluffily appealing.
Plus I've already got DE for easy-to-break xenos, and CSM for power armour. This looks like a nice middle ground.
