1850 Revenant Titan & Allies tournament list
This is my near final list for a upcoming tournament that is using standard 40k rules so there are no restrictions on flyers/escalation/fortifications/forge world/dataslate's/codex suppliments. With that in mind I have made the following list. The main idea will be the titan sitting on the landing pad for a 4+ save with any hit needing to roll a further 4+ to actually hit the titan due to its holo-field rules. The tau are here mainly to deal with any flyers or give the titan a hand with low priority soft targets that get in range of the landing pad, as the tau are also using the hunter cadre dataslate they will benefit from "hatred" towards marines and also gain tank hunter which is always a bonus.

Primary detachment (1182)
Landing pad
Revenant Titan, twin pulsars
Spirit Seer
Warlock
3x Jetbikes
3x Jetbikes

Hunter cadre (660)
Riptide, ion accelerator, skyfire and interceptor
3x Broadside, high-yield missile pods, smart missile pods, 2 marker drones and 1 shield drone
3x Broadside, high-yield missile pods, smart missile pods, 1 marker drones and 1 shield drone

total 1842

Why not drop the Spiritseer and Warlock to take a Farseer? At least you can pick up Guide and Prescience.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I don't believe that's correct about the titan holo fields, doesn't it just count as a 4+ save vs all weapons? and a 3+ if it moves?

That's how it was played this past Saturday at my FLGS, please correct me if i'm wrong as I don't own the escalation book.

PS. the titan army got mega raped by mass nid spam.

Both good points, i originally only included the sipritseer as the cheapest hq so i could add more tau/eldar units but as it turns out i was slightly under pointed and managed to fit the warlock in. Looking at it the farseer would be a much better choice for supporting the Titan

The rules are different in escalation mate, now for every penetrating hit your opponent makes on the titan he needs to roll 4+ if it has moved and a 3+ if it hasn't, if he fails this roll then the attack hit the holo projection instead of the titan so it will work with the 4++ save from the landing pad as thats an actual save and not the holo-field.

sort of - you actually roll for every hit before you determine if its glancing or penetrating ....

@HansGruber,

Thanks for the clarification!

Ps.If he needs to roll a 4+ to see if he hits after, can that be re-rolled with psychic powers/re-roll from fate weaver/warlord traits?

You want to drop the HQs for a Farseer and heck I already wrote this list here's what you want:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/569958.page

Basically Farseer buffs and sits in Broadsides everything from the Cadre is geared towards AA the only thing the Revenant can't deal with.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Have you had any luck running it in a competitive environment? I've got a game vs iron hands biker spam over the next few weeks and feeling pretty confident but necrons on the other hand... auto glancing a titian to death is not a fun thought at all.

Well Necrons need to be within 24" to use gauss and should never be alive long enough to get that. With this list you should be looking for the game to be largely over after turn 1. Due to finances I don't have my Revenant yet but do run the FBSC. 4 D shots retelling should kill your opponents 2 best units every turn. Whilst the FBSC nails flyers, Serpents and basically all light to medium mech.
