It's not really a proxy, I just wanted to see what they would look like torso-swapped as chaos knights.

I think the 15mm Leviathan may be a tad too short for a Knight (though maybe a stand in for a Riptide, but a 1/144 Gundam kit is better for that). The 28mm Leviathan is probably the right size though.

There are any number of Japanese Giant Robot Suit models from Gundam, Dougram, Macross, Frame Arms and so on that might be used. Have a look on Hobby Link Japan and other specialist suppliers of

Nothing gives the same mediaeval techno plate armour look as the GW kit, though.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

They really don't.

The Stormwall is sort of in the same ballpark, but the general 'Jack style of massive torso and arms with tiny legs and head is aesthetically quite different to the knight, which is more human-proportioned (note the 'more' rather than 'exactly', just to head off that discussion before it starts... )

Styling on the Warmachine range is also very different. The only thing that any of the WM range really has in common with the Knight is that they are big, humanoid walkers.

You would have to make a lot of changes to make them in line with, 40k tech.

Insaniak yeah many kits in Japan but the key is that most look too hi-tech many of them could be used for the Tau.

Sakura taisen has a nice retro look to them

Or something like Kishin heidan the god corps.

Some of the 3rd party have some large kits maybe some of those can be used.

At first I was hesitant about posting this here, but seeing all the off-topic stuff about Marines saves versus Eldar and Tau and so on, this is worth posting here.

10" tall, cheaper than a Knight model from GW, and 100% kick-arse. While it's obviously a display piece, I have a feeling it might also be doing some moonlighting work as a Warhound. The big old great grand daddy of those Space Crusade Dreadnoughts...

Also, I've got all but the little yellow mech from this line. I may run them as knights one day for gaks n' giggles. They're all about the perfect size, the red one might be a smidge too tall

Warjacks are a completely different art style.
Cartoony and mis-proportioned, vs. 40k's realism style.
