Hey dakka. This list is supposed to be aimed at being semi-competitive and fun to play. I enjoy using swarms as it just feels how Tyranids should look when they fight. I'd like some help tweaking it to be a bit more competive and just to make sure I haven't made any dumb mistakes with the new codex.

HQ: (460 pts)
Fyrant w/ 2 twin-linked brainleach devourers and wings (Warlord)
Fyrant w/ 2 twin-linked brainleach devourers and wings

Troops: (660 pts)
30 Terms w/ fleshborers
30 Terms w/ fleshborers

30 Horms
30 Horms

Elites: (240 pts)
Zoanthrope
Zoanthrope
Zoanthrope
Venomthrope
Venomthrope

Heavies: (640 pts)
Tyrannofex w/ rupture cannon
Tyrannofex w/ rupture cannon
Trygon Prime

Total: 2000 pts

The idea for this list is target saturation. The horms will run in front as meat shields with the terms followings to take objectives and shoot. The zoanthropes and venomtrhopes will be spread out to provide cover and synapse. The flyrants will do what they do best: flying around and killing w/e the biggest threat is. The Tyrannofexes will walk with the troops and shoot at any heavy tanks or MCs, while the tyrgon will disrupt my opponent's backfield turn 2 or 3.
With 150 little guys, my opponent will either have to shoot the horms and terms (who will have at least a 5+ cover save due to the venoms) and let my MCs cause havoc, or they will ignore my troops to try to bring down my MCs and allow my swarms to take the objectives and flood his deployment with bodies.

I feel like this list is pretty balanced and will do decently in tourneys. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, let's hear them.

I would be scared to face this, 150 little bugs back up by 5 MCs. I would be almost tempted to field this myself, but i don't want to paint 150 little bugs .

Khorne Daemonkin - 2100pts
Hive Fleet Cerberus 2500pts
Blood Pact Traitor Guard - 500pts

Yeah, it is slowly driving me insane. I'm working on 70 horms right now. Every time I see them sitting on my table, I can feel my eyes start to cross, haha.

I'd suggest dropping the big guns on the Tyranos and find 70 more points to make each Zoey a "x2" brood. That'll give you a lot of ,much more survivable, anti armor shooting.

If you trim the broods a little you can Adrenal gland the Tyranofexen so they can better move up and attract fire (and Smash MC's and vehicles)

But a lot of this is "just me"

I can see why. However, I really like having those 4 S10 shots for the first few turns so that my opponent is threatened while I move up. Though the 20 shots are tempting...

I did change my list up a little bit:
HQ: (460 pts)
Fyrant w/ 2 twin-linked brainleach devourers and wings (Warlord)
Fyrant w/ 2 twin-linked brainleach devourers and wings

Troops: (590 pts)
30 Terms w/ fleshborers
30 Terms w/ fleshborers
30 Terms w/ fleshborers
23 Horms
23 Horms

Elites: (285 pts)
Zoanthrope
Zoanthrope
Zoanthrope
Venomthrope
Venomthrope
Venomthrope

Heavies: (665 pts)
Tyrannofex w/ rupture cannon
Tyrannofex w/ rupture cannon
Trygon Prime w/ miasma cannon

Total: 2000 pts

The reasons for the changes are 2 fold. 1, I wanted more cover and having an extra venom will be helpful in case one gets popped early. 2) I wanted the prime to get more of a punch on the turn it enters. Since it is a MC, it can fire 2 weapons. So why not drop 25 points to give it blast or a nice template with 2+ poison?

I took the points from the horms because they are only there for meat shields and maybe the occasional charge to soak up overwatch. Losing 14 of them really wont change their effectiveness.
