Bounding Assault Marine

I'm trying to start up a pre-Heresy Space Wolves army and will be buying up mk2 and 3 armor sets to form Grey Hunters and Long Fangs as my base foot army. I want to employ Forgeworld tanks into the mix but am unsure of which to choose from. I'm not looking for an overly competitive army but I'm shooting for 2000 points for now. I really like the spartan assault tank and the sicarian pattern tanks as well. Any rhino hull based tanks will be purchased as deimos patterns. Would anyone out there have any insight as to which tanks produced by Forgeworld would be fun and make the list not completely suck? The group I play in is cool with running Forgeworld as long as I have rules for whatever is on the table. They would even allow the Fellblade in a 2000 point game so that's an option as well. I'm asking because I've never seen the rules for the newer Heresy tanks so I don't know the points cost/effectiveness. Thanks in advance for all that help me with this issue.

The spartan assult tank is great.
Others talk about preadators being good, but I haven't tried them out yet!
Hope that helps some.

Personally, I have nothing but praise for my Sicaran tank. With lascannon sponsons, it doesn't cost much more than a lascannon Predator.
And that 6 shot, twin linked, rending autocannon turret that ignores jink saves?

I think that the Deimos Executioner Predator might be a satisfactory pick, with either turret choice (Plasma Destroyer - See LR Executioner, Heavy Conversion Beamer - long range tank and TEQ destroyer).

Deimos Pattern Whirlwind Scorpius is just brutal anti infantry and light vehicle. Great tank.

Ok the Sicarian sounds like a winner! Automatically Appended Next Post: ansacs wrote:Deimos Pattern Whirlwind Scorpius is just brutal anti infantry and light vehicle. Great tank.
Does that whirlwind have any anti air capability at all? I have actually seen the rules for that pred and the plasma turret is awesome. Would it be better used with hb sponsons for some extra weight of fire to cut down heavy infantry? Or run conversion beamer and las sponsons and put it on anti tank duty? I'll be running 10 missile long fangs already. How points heavy is that Spartan? And what makes it a good choice? I've never seen the rules for it so I honestly don't know.
Thanks all for the suggestions and help so far!

The spartan assult tank is over 300 points. Has av 14 all around. Quad twin linked lascannons and a twin linked heavy bolter. It can also carry 25 troops inside and has 5 hull points!!
