Patlabor.. one of my favourite Manga movies of all time - where did you find that model Barzam, is it on sale yet?

And - will need to find out about a live action movie!

The pics are from the Shizuoka Hobby Show.

The Ingram itself will be out in September. The new live action series is a tv show.... I think. I'm not entirely sure. It's either a tv show or a straight to video series. It's called patlabor: Next Generation.

Lucky you, that kit also happens to be in scale with 28mm stuff.

Runnin up on ya.

You can have the model, I want the life-sized one that's going to be in the upcoming movie at the end of the month.

Shame the Alphonse isn't actually functional. I seem to recall that they're going to have it fight the Kuratas. I also seem to recall Bandai was at least teasing a diecast toy of the Kuratas. I wonder if they're do a 1/48 kit of it too to go with the Ingram.

For those who don't know what Kuratas is, it's this thing.

The lighting kit is interesting. I don't know what it represents from the game but could be useful for some other 40K model.

The reinforced gun make the whole machine look beefier.

The lighting unit is just for making the radiators light up with LEDs. In the game, all tanks have radiators as weakpoints on their rear, which glow a bright blue, as if to say "SHOOT THIS."

Now here is a rather nice new kit...

http://www.hlj.com/product/kbykp-319

1/35th scale.

The armour plates make it look a lot more "tactical" than the standard GitS spider robots. It has good surface details for painting and probably can be converted pretty easily to add different weapons or arms. There are some option parts included.

Very reasonably priced as well.

I'm a bit disappointed. I found the Kuratas that Bandai had been teasing. It isn't a model and isn't 1/48 scale. It's actually going to be a toy (if it actually happens) in their Chogokin line and it'll be 1/35 scale. I was rather hoping they'd do a 1/48 kit to go with their Patlabor. The idea of converting one into an IG unit is extremely appealing to me.

I had the reinforced gun in my hands at Volks, it look nice but 3400 yen is almost 70% of the tanks price, so no sankyuu.

That tachikoma look nice!

I have ordered one. It doesn't launch until September, and I don't have to pay yet as I have an account at HLJ. Depending on circumstances I might order some more. I reckon I can always use one on general principles as an SF model and if I can think of a unit to represent -- perhaps Broadsides -- I could get some more.

Progress on the Edelweiss Tank, still needs a lot touch ups, and is missing some parts on the top.

(PS i never understood why 40K tracks are rusty, wouldn't they have an Alloy that doesn't rust?)

Anyway i want to use mine as a Destroyer Tank Hunter

I looked at the impracticality of the low placed main gun on the hull as it would be for cross country traveling and it getting caught in places and filled with dirt or rocks. Very bad to have that happen. So, I moved the main gun to the turretshort barreled Heavy Bolter in the hull. My next one I will make as the kit has it as TD with support weapons in the turret.

Not nescessarily:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stridsvagn_103

Granted - the barrel is mounted a bit higher, but it demonstrates how a turretless tank can be effective even by modern design standards.

Can't wait till the Patlabor comes out. I will be needing a good half dozen of those for an army I have been wanting to build since...well, pretty much since I saw the Patlabor movie. Hopefully they will be doing matching 1/48 scale Hell Hounds as well.

As for the LED Mirage, 5 Star Stories always had some really badass mech designs (even if it is kind of ripped off from L Gaim), and this is just amazing.

Considering L Gaim is also by Nagano (and the Junchoon is basically L Gaim)... this is unsurprising. Asura Temple FTW

That makes a lot of sense. I knew there was a link between the two series, hadn't figured it was that.

HLJ are doing a MASSIVE CLEARANCE SALE until 21st June and also have a focus on Patlabor.

These models are re-releases. I have both of them. Good solid toys that are very poseable and stand about six inches tall.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to make the mechs from "M3: The Dark Metal" into kits? Love the designs.

Wow those look great - what is the 2nd (military looking) one though, not familiar with that from the animations?

Anybody know how tall these 1/100 destroids are? I'm thinking of replacing my missile-sides with non-GW models for giggles. My usual opponent is a giant GW fanboi and it might cause him to have a heart attack.

Count me in as anxiously waiting the arrival of a Gundam Mk III.

Wanted one for years, and Bandai US even teased a deluxe MSIA figure when they still had Gundam in the US. Didn't ever seem to materialize, and I'm in no hurry to track down the super expensive HCM model from the 80s.

Did Nagano design the Mk. III? It always seemed to have the more spindly limbs that he liked to design.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Huh that isn't that tall then really. Those knives are pretty common. Work fine as a 28mm large robot, but piloted mecha is a bit of a stretch, and definitely not to it's on "proper" scale (building sized i mean)

It says on the box that Its size is 14M so 1/100 would be probably around 14cm
