With all the talk of knights, it seems guard discussion has gone out the window... Are they still rumored to come in march?

Rumours are rumours. Don;t put any expectation on them being true.

Probably April for IG, May for Wood Elves, and June for Orks if they keep up with the current release rate. Supposedly we're also getting a "7th Edition" around summer.

It's really all speculation though so take it with a grain of salt.

My frowning will reach epic proportions if IG is not out there in March.

I was hyped up for the IG codex release. Have a campaign starting next week and was meant to have a new codex for it. Oh well the old one is still great.

It was, but it very well might have been pushed back with the with all the attention Knights have been getting. I would settle for April as that would give me time to detail my knight be easier on my budget that both hitting at the same time. I just HOPE we stay IG and DON'T get a name change

I can send an email to Faeit 212 that says Squats are coming in July and it'll be on the front page the next day. Outside of a choice few trusted names and the occasional leak, rumors are usually baseless.

If it was we would be getting rumors by now.

The fact that we've heard nothing besides some "he said she said" type stuff, means that it'll probably be April at the absolute earliest, and likely even later than that. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on late April-Early May.

At this point, I'd be awfully surprised at an April release. It seems to me that GW will want to bask in the glow of Imperial Knight sales for a bit, plus don't they usually alternate 40K/Fantasy from month-to-month anyway?

The buildup to the Knight release was at least a month, so the fact that we've got nothing as of now (beginning of March) tells me not to expect anything at least for early April.

Or maybe it was all baseless speculation to begin with and the IG won't be getting a new codex for six months or more? The current one still works fine after all and there are older and more popular/in-demand codices out there, no (or maybe not, for some reason I thought Space Wolves and Blood Angels were older but they're actually newer, although BA are certainly in much more need of an update than IG).

You wouldn't want Codex: Emperors Hammer or something cool like that. or Codex: Imperium?

I doubt they would change the name but its fun to think of cool names.

Yeah, it's an enduring testament to both guard and orks that they regularly go 6+ years without an update and still hold up nearly as well at the end as they did in the beginning, rather than becoming unplayable garbage a few years in.

In any case, March 2014 is the release of codex: imperial knights. It's going to be at least until may or june before the next 40k thing comes out, and even then, that might not be imperial guard. Especially if they're going to fast-track 7th, it really wouldn't surprise me if guard don't get a new codex until late this year.

I hope dark eldar dont go 12 years before their next one again...

There could be a chance this month... They can't have a full month on knights can they? If so... It could be April.
For now any way all we can do is wait.

Of course they can have full mont of Knights. In truth, if something was planned for March, we would already see some more solid rumours like in Knights case.

Im surprised how many people takes really shaky rumours "our source told us X...which is what other source told us years before" as something almost sure to fulfill. IMO March is Knights, April probably something for WHFB, so...May? My personal guess is September, but now Im rumouring too

It's because someone, somewhere, once said "IG in March" and a lot of people REALLY want to believe that. If the rumor monger was wrong, they'll say that IG were "pushed back" or something equally vague that nobody can actually prove. If they're right, well, they're right. Just recently another store got a box of Bullgryns in according to someone on another forum I frequent, so maybe there is some credence in it.

There's still plenty of weeks of releases after the Knights dex for other stuff in march, so it could still happen at tue back end. At this point who knows?

Orks have been in rumored to be 'just around the corner' for YEARS.

IG will get a new codex in due time, as will orks, but don't expect rumors to be accurate until you start seeing blurry, awful quality photos

And don't forget about that plastic Thunderhawk rumour (which I accidentally mis-clicked as "tumour" ) thats keeps turning up like a bad penny.

I don't think IG is coming until late April at the earliest. There's been no worthy rumours, no pics, and the best sources are saying nothing about it at present.

After the Tyranid codex release, I'm somewhat glad that the IG codex has been postponed until April. That way if it turns out to horrible, the IG community will have every right to voice their frustrations.

Why would the release date change how outraged people got over a codex if it was bad? And it hasn't been "postponed til April" or anything of the sort. If it's coming out in April, then it was pretty much always planned to come out in April. Things getting "pushed back" or "postponed" are just rumormongers trying to cover their own ass 99% of the time. These things take a long time to print, machine, manufacture, box, and ship, and they aren't really doing it on a dime.

You're in a game store, with someone who claims to have a legen ... wait for it ... dary item that's desired world-wide. It's brand new out of a box. There's a half dozen people there, plus more that come in all day, every day, for a week.

And no one, not one person, snapped a shot?

Right now, there's more stuff about Imperial Knights being released, what with Ordo Mechanicus models from Forgeworld and whatnot, so March is pretty well spoken for. April goes back to Fantasy. May? Maybe something in May, but the usual sources would be chatting it up and the advertising/hype would be rolling out.

It'll happen, but I wouldn't worry about it for several more months yet.

think your looking for april fools. sorry but with games workshop there is so much prep put in to releases there stuff dosen;t get "pushed back" or "postponed" it comes out on time and gets FAQ'd soon as possible.
