Wondering if anyone can answer or try and she'd some light on this, as there's some mystery here for me.

So this.. Is a codex with one unit, with two deviations?

Actually first off, why is this a codex, why not just left as a white dwarf entry? Or put in as a Dataslate? Are there any other units in this codex?

Has the definition of the word codex changed? To my understanding it detailed a full army's force organisation chart, and this? A codex for one unit? Is this some sort of selling strategy? If it is then why add the rules in a white dwarf beforehand? Does this basically amount to a fluff piece?

Is this the end of the force organization chart? An army of scoring super heavy walkers, is there an explanation somewhere?

I ordered an Imperial Knight, but am waiting on the "codex" as I really hope they make it possible to field it without purchasing a 50 dollar book for 1 model... I think its crap and should just be a data slate

didn't think of that.

Knight+optional transfer sheets+rules to field a knight = 140+20+41 201 dollars....hmm.

Luckily there's a whole thread to cover this topic:

From the rumours, the "rules" from the codex that vary from what we've seen in WD could probably be summed up in a couple of lines. So just buy the WD, go to a GW, glance at the codex, note any differences, profit.

Even if you do buy the codex... how is that any different to any other ally unit? Want to ally some Blood Angels with your Imperial Guard, buy the codex.

But yeah, the rumours are that it's just a codex with nothing more than a couple of Knights and a couple of terrible looking special rules for the couple of Knights which are actually just a single kit with a weapon swap.

Since I only plan on using them as allies, I can get away with just having WDW #4.

As pretre pointed out, the information you are looking for is well covered in other threads already.
