Executing Exarch

The Twilight Zone

Since you have the spare points, and need a 2nd CCW for your autarch since the firesaber must replace a CCW, take a scorpion chainsword on your autarch. You can instantly swap it out for the saber, but it means you keep your pistol, getting +1 attack in combat. Well worth the spare points you could not spend otherwise. I take it you want the autarch with your avengers.

Avengers are good, disarming strike is probably overkill, but there are far worse things to spend points on.

Ghostwalk matricies are fantastic for serpents, but the EML is generally too expensive. Pinning is OK, but with the scatter laser, you unlock the serious power of the twin linked serpent shield, for far less. At 1k you probably don't need that much heavy AT, and for your heavy AT you have your dragons.

If you want to keep your 5 avengers, put them in the serpent and put the 10 avengers on foot. With the larger numbers and shield, they can survive. Use the 5 man team to get the serpent and use it as a battle tank, using the small squad to score or finish off things as needed. If you want a foot unit, guardians with a heavy weapon, rangers or jetbikes are all great.

Fragon exarches are wasted on the flamer, considering you can get fast shot if you stick with the base melta gun. I doubt your list will have problems with hordes or need a flamer that badly. Dragons can be taken in minimum naked squads of 5, unless you really want. Iron resolve is a fine power for the cost.

Scorpions are solid, but the exarchs need a scorpions claw. You are spending a lot on CC powers that you won't need if you take the claw. Biting blade with crushing blow has the same strength as the claw, but the claw has an extra shot in it, and Ap2. With S6, stalker is hardly needed. The T6 enemies you need it against are mostly MC's, in which case you should take monster hunter instead. It works for the whole squad, in shooting and assault, and no test is needed.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Alright, looks solid footdar list with some random choices.
Dragons breath? A heavy flamer for your AT squad? Why? Just take the regular Gun with Fast Shot.
EML is the worst heavy weapon because of it's price and inefficency. Scatter Lasers work overall and BL's and long-range AT (which this list lacks).

Shard of Anaris is better for Autarch, I think. And if he takes the challenges, why does DA Exarch have disarming strike.

So overall a good list, most problems are only about the wargear. But one thing I can't figure out is the role of those five DA. What are they for?
