Has anyone ever had or asked a converter to make them something? I know there has to people commission services to do this. I want to replace the chainsword on the new knight titan with a great big coggy axe. Also would like to change the filigree on the armor plates. I could possibly do the last on on my own by just shaving off all the filigree and sanding it down then going through and adding cog teeth to the plates. I am not good at using plastic card and I believe trying to make a great big coggy axe will turn out more like crap and ruin a perfectly expensive model.

I can google too. Not hardly the point it’s a community. The point of a community is to share experience and information. So you shared yours, I will share mine. Google gets paid to put people first when you “google” certain things. So how do I know if they are any good? Pictures, well I can set you up with a website and get you tons of pictures off the interwebz. It’s word of mouth that really sells reliability, people who are a part of a community talking about their experiences with the company. But he it was easier just to sorta poke fun at me right?

Thank you the other people who replied I will PM you and ask to see atleast some of your work.

"Are there any conversion commission services out there?" is not the same as asking "Which conversion commission service is best?"
So imho the answer was exactly what you were asking for.

Dont be so harsh. People in the painting and modeling section are polite and helpful. Give them some time
and they will help you with what you need.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

I have first hand experience using Garden Ninja Studios for conversions. The owner and operator of that site posts here as odinsgrandson. Garden Ninja does some great work in a very reasonable amount of time. In fact he has the best turn around time for any painting/conversion service that I have ever used. While fast, he is not low quality, and can work off even vague instructions.

I also can recommend LilLoser. He achieves some fantastic work, but he is based in the UK so postage and travel time can add in terms of how much and how long a commission takes.

Honorable mention goes to Blue Table Painting. I absolutely despise their painting service, but they do some solid conversion work. Like everything they do, they charge a premium for their service and they have delays crop up frequently, but you could do worse than sending your conversion projects to BTP.

More generally, this should help you out more than anything else I posted above.

So I guess what you are saying is I must spell out every nuance? I am rude for pointing out the flaw in googling something but I think people in this forum are smart enough to figure out that when I asked for conversion services they would give me ones the use or are a part of? Other people before and after him did. Or put yourself in my shoes and want information and instead have someone give useful thought, you get told fething google it. Since this is what help equals out to just go to all the threads started to a ask questions and say "google it." need a paint strippers? google it! want cool water effects? google it! How did someone paint this? Google it! Then why don’t we shut down Dakka no point really when we have google.

So far I wish I could agree. Sadly I come hat in hand asking for information and instead get “google it” I don’t actually think at this point section is necessary with google.

Thank you very much for the information given and it will come in very handy. On the other suggested reading, I would look at that book in the library but when I walked in the librarian said “google it.” I guess like online communities in which all issues can be solved with google therefore rendering them obsolete the library to is found wanting against google. But hey I don’t want to be rude with all these references to google. I just figured “when in Rome”, right? If the expectable course of action for someone being logical and reasonable is to tell them something asinine I want to fall in step like a good soldier. But as a I said before, thank you for your information. It was exactly what I was looking for, a personal account from a member of a community.

You might want to try looking through this link, if you have not yet done so.

It's for painting services on the face of it but many of, maybe even most of, the people who posted in there also do conversion work.

If it is something really big you are looking for, (like multiple warhound titans etc.) I would probably go with BTP. If it is smaller though, lake a few models or some vehicles, then some smaller places would most likely be able to do it cheaper and faster.

Current Armies: Chaos Space Marines(Building), Orks(Completed), Vanilla Marines(Near Completion), Trollbloods(Completed), Axony (Building)

Making sure that the question you ask is what you actually want to know is a big help in getting the response you want, yes.

Having said that, the 'google it' response wasn't particularly helpful either. A little thought in the responses goes a long way, folks.

I find it ironic that the OP has "Google it" in his Ranking profile.

You waited less than 24 hours before throwing your toys out of the pram because no lead replied yet but it's the community that is the problem? Your attitude is why some people are giving you google it answers instead of going out of their way to help you.
