Hi there !
I've been reading your forum for quite a while now, but this is going to be my first post. I'm looking for something quite specific, and I hope a Tyranid player could take 5 minutes of his time to help us out.
Basically, I'm looking for specific pictures of 3 models : the Red Terror, the new Tyrant Guard, and Deathleaper. I'm looking for perfectly top-down pictures, which for some reason are almost impossible to find just by searching on the internet. The reason for that is that my wife and I are working on a passion project to make battle reports or showcases with high quality top down view of the battlefield and units, using drawn models for the actual units, and right now we are working on tyranids.

Here's an example of the kind of photo I'm looking for, this is the one we used for the Harpy and Hive crone (we got lucky, it was available on Game's Workshop website) :

Excuse the fairly low resolution, it was just to make it easier to upload and showcase, the actual images are way bigger and better quality than this.

iPhone photos are totally fine, I don't need super duper HD pictures to get a drawing out of them, plus phones nowadays do really good photos anyway.
I'd be glad to get more shots ! The more shots of the same miniature I get, the better the drawing will be in the end.

Load out doesn't make much of a difference, weapons are really not that hard to draw, so I can just make them using side shots. And thanks for the pictures, they are EXACTLY what I'm looking for ! Those will help greatly ! I'm still looking for some more, because more pictures allows for more precise drawing.

As for the base Rotary, yeah I have everything at the right scale (maps and models), which means all models have a small round outline to show the size of the base, nothing too visible not to mess up with the look of the overall (supposed to be very clean, that's the point of not using actual miniatures), but clear enough that you can tell where the base is.
I hope I can get one or two more shots of those miniatures, and then as soon as I think i've got a good enough idea of the model is, we'll get on drawing ! (I'm actually not the one drawing, I'm the one doing the coloring, but you get the idea).

Thanks again for the quick answers guys ! After looking at the pictures I'd say that some painted shots would also help, as having both unpainted and painted shots would be amazing.

We made all of those just using the image we found on GW's website, the alternative weapons were just made using what we knew about the model and some normal pictures.

Just a note regarding the Crone, the little tentacles under the wings are the Tentaclids, of which the Crone has 4 of.

Just for the record, VASSAL 40k has something similar to this, although your illustrations are much better than the sprites they use. If I was them though, I'd nab these, they're exceptional.

Yeah, I know about it, I'm actually one of the guys making the sprites for Vassal, so I send them those sprites in addition of using them myself for different projects.

Nice, I thought they looked similar to the VASSAL sprites. For the record, thanks for the hard work with those, VASSAL keeps my disparate gaming group together.

I Love 'em and I thought they were for VASSAL to begin with as well.

I just realised that happyjew posted here. and he didn't even post.... that thing.

I'm helping Vassal with those models, but the project I'm working on is similar (other than for batreps), I'm managing a small 40k online community to play using the Roll20 engine instead of Vassal. Because if you used Vassal in the past, you know how buggy it is, and how counter-intuitive the UI is.

I'm looking for some more pictures if any Tyranid player can help me out again. I'm looking for pictures of the Swarmlord, the new Tyrant Guard and Hive Guard miniatures (any equipment will do, but the more the better), the Trygon and / or Mawloc, the Red Terror (old or new model, doesn't really matter, both are good, and finally very low priority, but I'm going to need them eventually, Deathleaper and Pyrovore.

And the Tervigon with crushing claws is also done :

Hey, thanks a lot for those Raven. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to use the Swarmlord one, it's a bit too blurry for me to make out the details of it sadly. The Trygon one is great though, especially for the details on the carapace. I'll just need another one from further away though, to get a better look at the tail and arms.
