Chaos can have drop pods. Use the dreadclaw rules from Forgeworld! 100% Legal!

On topic: I'm doing some Plague from Deadzone, Dark Angels/Dark Eldar and Necrons. Busy busy busy!

Yeah but that is more of a big ass space ship than a drop pod and cost as more than a landraider, not exactly what I was looking for, but I suppose could work.

Some places don't allow Forgeworld rules.

I'm working on some minis based on the film 'Cross Of Iron'. They're white metal 28mm and were an eBay purchase.

** Leutnant Meyer, Feldwebel Steiner and Obergefreiter Kruger **

These have been block painted and are waiting for Quickshading.

** Schutze Kern, Schutze Maag and Gefreiter Anselm **

These have been block painted and Quickshaded in a dark tone. They need to be drybrushed and highlighted and then sprayed with matt varnish before their bases are finished.

** Obergefreiter 'Schnuurbart' Reisenauer **

Primed in black and waiting to be painted. This was actually the first mini that I completed, but when it was being dipped in Quickshade and shaken dry it fell off its holder and landed on the floor. It was easier to strip it of paint and varnish, than try to pick off the cat hair and dust that was now sticking to the Quickshade.

Each mini was epoxied to British one penny coins for basing, and the bases built up with Humbrol model filler.
When finished they'll be put into a custom basing tray and displayed.

Am I a 'Cross Of Iron' anorak? Probably.
Nothing wrong in appreciating a classic war movie, though.

Land raider changes. Took some advice and came across some extra berserker parts. I have some skulls on order as well.

Well I unfourtunately don't have a picture of what I am painting right right now but I do have this sitting on my desk right now (bad lighting in this picture):

It provides me with a little bit of Skaven inspiration while I paint up the nest horde of rat things!!!
I did also just finish painting a custom Warplock Engineer with Doomrocket but right now I am 90% complete my Doomwheel. I just have to paint the banner and drybrush the base (and glue the model to it).
I tend to get about 90% done a model where it is nearly complete and can field it but wait to finish it because I always move onto something else haha
After the Doomwheel is a block of 25 clanrats. Once I do that I might move on to painting some Tau. I have so much Tau and Eldar to paint (3 models for space marines left tho!!!)
I also have a piece of terrain in the works right now tho!

P.s
Some people have some CRAZY messes on their desks haha If I have more than 3 or 4 models on my desk I am like awww damn this is to much on my desk (plus like a bazillion paints but I try to keep them in the drawers unless I am using them)

Work and model prep has slowed down my painting, but I spent the weekend prepping for another furious round of slapping on paint!

Representing a weekend of cleaning, building, basing, and priming (and of magnetizing weapon mounts), phase 2 of my army is now sitting on my work table:

That they are, she's definitely the best project I've made though.
I'm doing some work on my Knight tonight, I shall post pictures later if I get a chance. And thanks for the kind words, I'll have it up and running properly again soon.

No, they're empty, I just like the look of the boxes stacked up, one of the Centurion boxes is full though, and one box of Tacticals is mostly full too.

My first attempts at airbrushing. Using an old Chimera as a test model. So far so good, I think! I have the base color and highlights done, about to mask it off for camo and then its off to fine details, varnishing, decals, washes, weathering, etc.!

PS - any comments or critique is welcome as I'm an airbrush noob!

Baby does keep me away from hobby stuff, but totally worth it.

So, here's my 90% finished 'Nocturne's Wrath' - my first ever tank. I must admit, for the largest model I've painted to date, I'm surprised that it's also my fastest painted model. Anyway, enoguh rambling here it is, including the completed image some may know from 'Vulkan Lives':

It's not fully done yet, as I'm struggling with what to do on the front Glacis plate. It's got some Salamanders transfers to go on the front-side black segments, and the black needs highlighting, but other than that I'm stuck - any ideas Dakka?

Well I couldn't resist posting a pic of my messy worktop after reading through and seeing all the excellent work going on.

I was originally working on a Dwarf Man O War fleet but they have been pushed down the painting list for a pair of Vengeance Weapon Battery's for my Skyrar's Dark Wolves army for a tournament at the start of next month.

You can see the base of the first one nearly finished towards the back of the photo.

Finally got bored of Guild Wars 2.... Time to start painting again

Excuse the crappy picture; taken with a phone camera, then re-sized by the gallery to make it even more blurry

I've been messing around with a new recipe for nmm gold and, despite only having about 30mins to work on it before I went to work, i'm pretty happy with the results. I might add a bit more low-lighting on the fleur-de-lys symbol though as it has too much flat colour for my liking. Blue looks crap, but it's just base-coated and washed so i've got a nice solid foundation and, I keep telling myself, all the shadows are in the right places!

Give me a couple more days and the mess on the desk will start to look more complete.

Edit: Ah... If you can be bothered to click on the image and zoom in a couple of turns of the mouse wheel, you get a much clearer pic!

Wow, that NMM is looking good! Would you mind sharing your recipe at all? I like the way I do gold now, it's sort of NMM using metallics (Nerdfest 09's recipe ), but I'd like to be able to do 'proper' NMM - I've just never known where to start!

the shrouded lord wrote:@ warpig: awesome. the helmet of the fallen guy on the back looks a little weird, but still. awesome.

Yeah, on the original image, the fallen marine (Captain Nemetor of the 15th Reconnaissance Company) is being cradled by Vulkan, so his head is limp and falling back - hence why my image is like that, although on this scale against an already black background I've found it hard to emphasise the shading.

Finally got some time to start painting some more:

Also, did a quick and dirty color test (both figures slated to be stripped) with the goal of doing Imperial Fists:

The one on the right is Army Painter Demon Yellow color primer. It came out was to thick when I used it like I would any normal primer, which I have since read on these forums is common. The one of the left is a random stab at Rustoleum's 2in1 color and primer in a "Summer Squash" color. The actual figures are more yellow than the photo makes them look. I don't think the one on the left is yellow enough, all the same. I think I just need to keep working with the Army Painter brand of yellow and try to get enough mastery that it isn't so thick. Even though it claims to be a primer, I am thinking primer in white or grey and do a light dusting of the yellow?

I dunno... The Army painter one looks good if you want to build up a rich yellow colour, whilst the other looks great if you want a more stark finish :S
