Ok, i found a great deal on a squad of 10 Boarboyz from Fantasy.

Can i use them in 40k?
Maybe use them as bikers? or perhaps they'll get a "cavalry" statline?
I just wanna make sure they can be used before i purchase them. And how they can be used

Wot's faster than a warbuggy, more killy than a warbike, and flies through da air like a bird? I got no bleedin' idea, but I'm gonna find out.

I'm not sure there's an Orky cavalry unit, other than Bike Nobz and Orks on Bikes (which it seems no one ever fields)... so, any use of them is going to depend on your local group's permission for them as a "counts as" unit.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Counts as bikes would be cool.

Also, cyPORK body.

Heh.

There have been Boarboyz in old rules. The 2nd edition ork codex included them, and the Feral Orks rules also included them in 3rd edition.

You can use them as bikers, although they are a touch weedy compared to the biker models. Using the new oval bases will help.

Other then that, its either homebrew rules or counts as.

I converted fantasy boars to cyboars and use them as bikers for my feral snakebites. Yes they got dakkagunz and bike bases

I meant touch weedy.

Weedy, Adjective, from the Orkish: Of small stature, weak.

They would be thematic as counts as ork bikers for a Snakebite Clan army I guess.

Well ... i'm painting each squad of my army to represent a different klan .... so maybe i'll paint the boar boyz like Snakebites?

The old boarboyz and cyboars are indeed a bit on the small side but they are great models (well, I like them anyways, might be nostalgia influenced though). The new fantasy boarboys have grown quite a bit so I don't think the size difference will be all too big with the bikes. Still not as big, but not Zomg waac difference in size.

It's an awesome idea, boarboys for bikes and ogre big monsters for squiggoths/trucks

Ok i've puchased them but i don't know if they're new or old.
I guess i'll find out on Wednesday. Either way i'll put them on biker bases for size reasons. Hopefully my playgroup won't mind me fielding them too much. I already have a pretty heavily converted army ... including about 6 scratch builds .. we'll see lol

and also ... being Boars and not bikes ... can i justify a 4+ save? lol

They're counts-as, so as long as your opponent is cool with them, then you treat them exactly as if they were Orks on Bikes.

Use them as snake bite biker equivalents. Most players will not have a problem. I converted a unit of savage orks into a kommando unit and other players have been fine.
