Is there such a thing as a Mistress or a Dreadlady in the Dark Elf military, or upon reaching a certain level of badassery are all those female warriors stripped of half their armour and sent to join Witch Elf units? The reason I'm asking is I bid on a blurred photo of a box of dark elves which turned out to contain Morathi on a Dark Pegasus. With a bit of conversion (a greenstuff armoured bra for a start) she could be used as a Master/Dreadlord. Alternatively I could just sell her, is it worth holding onto a Dark Pegasus for a time when I have the models to field a large army or are they not worth the points?

I once had a guy lecture me for a whole Bloodbowl match because my Skaven throwers were painted as albinos. "All albinos would have been taken to Clan Skyre to become seers, you should repaint them more realistically".

IMO Dark Elf women are just as likely to be found leading a Dark Elf Force - not sure about the current set but the previous set had a goodly number of female bodies in the rank and file and the army book entry makes no mention of gender. Their are female bestmistresses and other models.

Males are somewhat discrimated against as Sorcerers but thats about it as far as gender is concerned I think.....

Thanks, I'd forgotten about beastmasters! I might model Morathi as a beastmaster on the Dark Pegasus and use her as a Master/Dreadlord.

The breastplates on the new warriors are all non-gender specific but I have some older warriors who are most definitely female (or accidentally put on their wife's armour before leaving the house).

Why not use her as a dread lady:

That model looks fantastic, I don't understand why they sold her as a sorceress instead of a dreadlady as you suggested, since I thought metal affected the ability of sorceresses to cast spells.

As a list choice, is the Morathi-on-a-pegasus worth keeping for my army? Now I've had a proper look at the easy conversion options on that cold one sorceress I'm more tempted to sell Morathi and buy that as my dreadlady/mistress instead! It's the metal version I have, I should be able to strip it and get a bit of money to put towards this model

If you want more females in your army, black ark corsairs have a few female torsos in them (atleast they used to I'm not sure if they changed the kit or not)

The Black Ark kit never had female torsos in them.

The old Dark Elf warrior kit did.

All my skaven are painted ginger. My seers too. If anyone started lecturing me about how I paint and even going so far as to telling me how I should paint to make it more "realistic" (...in a game with rats large as men walking on their hind legs casting magic...) I would start goose-stepping and start yelling about GINGER MASTER RACE BETTER AT EVERYTHING!

I wouldn't mind, but as aapch45 said, Blood Bowl is far fetched even by WH standards! Giant walking ratmen is one thing, giant walking ratmen playing American Football against their sworn enemies is another kettle of fish...

I'm not hugely knowledgeable in WHFB Lore, but I'm fairly sure that in Dark Elf (and High Elf) society, both women and men are treated as equal and, since elves' strengths come from speed and skill, as opposed to muscle, female elves are just as lethal as male ones. In Dark Elf society, one rises to power through cunning, ruthlessness and a fair bit of back-stabbing, no "first-born son" or anything like that. I think a Dreadlady is perfectly possible, though I imagine she'd go by the title Dreadlord as well.

On the subject of sorceress, men aren't discriminated as such, it's just that there's a prophecy that a male sorcerer will bring doom to the Dark Elves (or overthrow Malekith or something like that) and so males aren't ever trained as wizards and any that do become sorcerers are hunted down and brutally murdered. So, actually, I guess you could say that is discrimination.

There are female lords and masters in the army. GW had some female models for them as well, on page 77 in the book you can see one.

Aren't Skryre the Warlock Engineering clan anyway? I'd think albinos would be given over to the Grey Seers rather than Skryre, if they had horns at least.
Also I think there are albino Stormvermin who serve the Council of 13 too.

Women in dark elf society are treated equally to men. Although they are more likely to stay home and scheme when it isn't wartime.
