Hi,
I'm Plaing against Necron on friday and I'm asking for some advice on my list.
He's playing with doomscythe, night scythe and ressurection barge. He will get deatmarks and blob of warriors and I don't know what else.
Here is my list:
Sorcerer ( HQ) (Mastery Level 3); Spell Familiar - 125
Aegis Defence Line with quad gun 100
7 x Havocs (Heavy Support) Autocannon (x4) 141
3 x Obliterators, MoN 228
Maulerfiend (Heavy Support) magma cutters 125
Blight drone 150 (36" battlecannon, flyer, stealth and shrouded special rule)
10 x Chaos Space Marines (Troops) 9x CCW, melta, rhino
8 x Chaos Space Marines (Troops)
12 x Chaos Cultists (Troops)
I'm playing Maulerfiend because I just got this model and it's really cool
Do I have enough firepower to kill everything he will throw at me?

Yep. My mistake. So I'll swap one CSM with CCW to heldrake and flamer on CSM squad.

I need to get a blight drone with weaponry like that!
By resurrection barge do you mean a ghost ark? If so target that early on. It's AV13 until you get a penetrating hit then it's AV11. It has 4 HP which is pretty nice so you will want to get rid of it before the Scythes turn up. Without the ark a big blob of troops can die pretty quickly.
The mauler fiend will tear crons apart in CC but getting there may be a challenge especially as I would expect his flyers to target it when they arrive (unless your drake/blight drone is already on the table).
Death marks will probably mark up your sorcerer so put him in a unit that will slow down your opponents attempt to get slay the warlord and first blood early. They will deep strike in as close as the can so if you can survive their first turn of shooting you should be able to blow them apart and steal first blood.
Do you know if your opponent is bringing wraiths? I'm trying to figure out what he could be spending the rest of his points on.

Focus on his vehicles (Scythes first, then ark/barge/whatever) then make use of all those CCWs aggainst the warrior blob. Can't do much against deathmarks but survive and shoot back.

OK. Thanks for replies!
Initially I wanted to stick my sorc at quad gun to cast and shoot with BS5. But thanks to Jdredsox I maybe I won't loose him stupidly
I always take Plague Marines but this is last chance for ordinary CSM to prove their worth

Warriors - AP 5 and enough shots to wipe out the whole squad.
Vehicles - anything capable of getting a penetrating hit against AV13 (it then drops to 11)
Anything with Sempitermal Weave - AP 2
Phase shifters - 3++ save. Just keep shooting and hope for the best. The "worst" offenders here are wraiths.
Night Scythes - AV 11/12 (can't quite remember) flyer that is a dirt cheap dedicated transport. Easy enough for other flyers to kill but will cause a world of pain while it is alive.

So i lost this battle (it was close  )
My opponent surprised me because he took 3 ghost arks with 3 squads 10 x warriors, night scythe with 10 x deathmarks with cryptek and lord on chariot with scythe of some kind
Warlord was easy to kill in first turn with my maulerfiend (but it died to 30 shots from ghost ark next turn). Deathmarks died in second turn after disembarking due to my sorc with hallucination followed by heldrake).
But after that it was only worse. To round 6 I was able to penetrate and immobilise only one ghost ark and inflict 2 glances on second. I was using mostly multimeltas and lascannons on Oblits but with small effect.
This quantum shielding is really pain in the arse.
So what you would do to such nasty things? More oblits? Or something to charge and strike on its back?

As a necron and CSM player I have a few words of advice. So for necrons you really need ap 4 not ap 5 as warriors have a 4+ armor save or enough wounds to kill a squad a turn to not allow reanimation protocols.
For the ghost archs I would take 3 man terminator teams with combi meltas and power swords. They will ruin ghost archs and kill the squads inside while he seams to have brought nothing that can pen your armor.
Additionally I would take either havocs with missile launchers or lascannons and put them far far out of his range, he will have to foot slog for at least two turns before he gets to engage those units at all. Throw out the extra bodies only take 5 man squads, use your range to make them survivable.

Yup, you're right I was thinking of re-animation protocols not armour save ( don't have my codex with me) so AP4. If they're hiding in the ghost arks not much you can do though.
3 ghost arks at this point level will really hurt and I'd argue are pretty good anti armour to boot. 15-30 shots each, with 10 man squads inside, which glance away hull points on a 6. Keep 24" away, so las cannons are good. The AV 13 and 4 hull points make them really survivable. I'm not sure id want to get close with terminators as they could neuter a squad in rapid fire range.
Havocs and obliterators at long range would be my recommendation. Can you get a vindicator into your army? ST10 weaponry, and blast templates could really help once you get troops out of the arks.
10 death marks is interesting as I would usually run 5, too expensive for very little return otherwise.
The warlord probably had a warscythe in the barge which can make him a pretty nasty AT unit.

Ghost archs are open topped, if you pen their armor they are dead. Hull points don't matter when you explode, plus the people inside should loose 2-3 men on strength five with their armor save, then they moral check then next turn you can shoot and assault. Even if you don't want terminators sit back and out range them. Force them to take significant, and I use that word carefully with necrons, casualties. You need to wipe squads or kill vehicles outright otherwise they will slowly beat you down.
