Subject: 2250 Noise Marine + Huron List

Hello all. Ive been playing around with using Huron for a while now and would like some critique on the list. The main idea is to have Huron Blackheart Infiltrate noise marines into cover and be in maximum firing range for the sonic blasters. The second unit of 10 and if I'm lucky on the master of deception roll, Obliterators or Havocs (depending on the opponent) will accompany them. Slaanesh lord on a his steed will outflank with the 20 man noise marine squad while the Termicide units take out any big armor with their Meltas. Aegis Quad Gun can be maned by Havocs or the small noise marine squad.
I dont know where to put Huron himself in this list. I have only been playing 40k since dark vengeance so any advice is welcome!

U are ed peding too many points on sb were it isnt beig used.
Do 3 seperate squads of 5 with bm
1 squad of 10 with as many sb stand infront of the bm squads.
I would go so far as to create a 2nd squad of 20 noisemarines with sb n infiltrate 24" away shooting sb ignoring cover n get IoE for fnp.

Sorry for my long winded ness in this post. Figure it would be better to explain my thoughts rather than post a army list since you said you're fairly new. You may not agree with all of it but I hope it helps. Happy hunting .
I have been liking Slaanesh and it's noise weapons alot lately with the introduction of the Taudar (Tau and Elda players) since those armies tend to THRIVES on cover saves and sonic weapons tend to shut that nonsense down quite quickly.
That being said I only consider myself to be a novice since I am just recently coming back into the game myself. But at first glance I would drop the VoLW and the steed on your Lord since if you do decide to outflank instead of infiltrating them the odds are your not going to get a ideal flank position and your blob squad of marines will be easy pickings for any army. If you really want to get those guys into close combat, drop the unit size to 9 tops so you can put them and a IC with them in a Rhino or Landraider with dirge casters to PREVENT enemies from overwatching. Give the Noise Marine champ, that you want to assault with, and your Lord powerfist or powersword/melta bombs, I'd recommend fists for tough opponents and MC's though. You might also want to consider taking Lucian over your lord as well would be cheaper than the lord you have listed and far better in CC, I have also successfully used Lucian as a bog unit to tie up elder wrath knights, a 300 point bamf, with my 165 point IC from turn 2 till the end of the game. Food for thought on your assault unit and hq's. Blackheart is more utility to me though. Run him around in a rhino with a doom siren on a champion and flame on from firing ports.
As for your terminators, deep strike them with balls of steel or drop them for additional troops. They will not get their points worth if you foot slog them and even if you do deep strike them it's a toss up if they will get their point value. If you do wish to take terminators though, I haven't tested this in game yet but in theory it is sound. Take 10 of them with a heavy flame, reaper auto and the rest combi-weapons and put a sorcerer lvl 3 with term armour and do your damndest to get the telepathy spell Invisibility. That way when you deep strike into cover you have a 2++. Which is nice. Also if you really wanted to make them a deathstar give them MoS and drop a IoE for that feel no pain.
As far as troops and Noise marines go I would max out your organization chart. 1 champ vanilla, unless you want him accompanying a IC, a blastmaster and 4 sonic blasters. Got to use that Slaanesh revered number of six. I'm a sucker for lore. That will give you six blastmasters, plenty of firepower for any army and they are troops. Drop your havocs since blastmasters>autocannons. Still take a aegis with quad though and put a squad of noise marines in there. If you are planning on getting rhinos for mobile cover then keep saturating armour with armour in heavy support. Otherwise keep your havocs in aegis and blast away.

Can your lord be infiltrated with a squad using huron's infiltrate? I'd take sonic blasters on the ones that are infiltrating. For devastating ammount of shots. Sonic blasters are well worth the points you invest in them.

It may be a typo on your part but a Lord can not have 2 lightning claws AND a weapon artifact, as each weapon requires a swap. A lord has 2 weapons base.... iirc

The blob unit of marines need to be with the chaos lord to get his outflank ability. Acute senses let me reroll the odds so I have a pretty decent shot of getting them in threat range of something. And if i cant thats what the terminators are for. I was also playing around with the idea of giving the slanesh lord the Murder Sword if I was playing against a tooled up HQ. I probably should add a few rhinos into this list.
IF I were to infiltrate a squad of 10 noise marines in a rhino and disembark first turn would I be able to fire at their max salvo number or would that count as having moved?

Because of the steed of slaanesh I dont believe he can be infiltrated. However he gets outflank and acute senses. Get Icons for your 10man sonic squads. They're giving you effectively 33% more bodies (assuming you get FnP against all wounds), so it works out cheaper to just buy the Icon than an extra 3 dudes.
Dump Huron into the Oblit squad when possible - He'll make them fearless, and they'll give him a bit of a wound soak to help deny Slay the Warlord.
Your anti-vehicle is very very light. Might want to think about shoring that up a little. How do you plan on dealing with things like LR's, Russes, Necron vehicles etc? Basically anything AV13+ isn't going to feel very threatened with what you have on the table, and at 2k+ points, you're pretty likely to see a reasonable amount of armour.

I had IoE on the bigger units origonally but I was looking to free up some points. I think I should take away from the big blob to buff them up. As far as anti-vehicle I was hoping for the havocs on the quad gun to deal with light vehicles and fliers and the terminator squads melta guns and obliterators to help with heaver vehicles. Would you suggest a different unit for dealing with armor? a predator maybe?

Chaos preds with triple las are the real deal. From playing mech guard against the cha0s players in my area. I have learned to quickly dispatch them or risk losing alot of vehicles. From what I have seen they work much better in pairs, like most units in this game.

Except 2 Las Preds in the above list would get obliterated within 2 turns, since they're the only ground based vehicles on the field, and without target saturation, his opponent will be pointing every anti vehicle weapon he has at them.
In such an infantry heavy list, I'd look at Lascannon Havocs. 155 points for a basic 5man squad with 4 lascannons is pretty good.
Your current lineup (Oblits/Termicide) gives you, over the course of the game, 6 melta shots and 9 lascannon shots, plus potentially an additional 6 melta shots if you get your oblits close enough. That's not per turn. That's 15-21 anti-vehicle shots over the entire game (assuming none of your stuff dies, which isn't going to happen realistically) 1/3 of those shots miss by default simply due to BS4. A single lascannon havoc squad will give you 20 shots over 5 turns (again, assuming the unrealistic situation where none of them die), which is more than quadrupling your 48" firepower.
They'll still be vulnerable to having anti vehicle weapons shot at them, but you're at least saturating your infantry targets, and they remove that small chance of having all your firepower vaporised with one lucky lascannon shot.
Whether you elect to go for lashavocs is up to you. Melta Raptors or bikers could also be an option. LasPreds are not. You don't have enough other vehicles to give them the target saturation they need to do their job in my opinion, and to add those other vehicles would basically require you to take the list right back to square one and start again.

After doing some research on the melta raptors and las havocs im going to see if i can work at least one in. Both seem like fun units to experiment with. Thanks! I will post a revised list when I get sometime to sit down and rework it all.

Its been a while but I wanted to update the list for anyone who cares. Added another unit of havocs with las cannons (this guys will be interchangeable with melta raptors should be around the same point cost.) Infiltrate noise marines where possible with huron and fire sonic weapons at full capacity turn one. Outflank with steed of Slaanesh and the melee noise marines for line breaker and contesting back objectives. Dual termicide to take out any vehicle threats obliterators and havocs cant take care of. And a Heldrake.
Any suggestions to the new list?
