Big difference indeed, great step forward once the armour got into play.

I'd say go with the light blue, pops beautifullly, just dulled-wheathered enough to go along with the underlaying rust.

Will be waiting for the next installment!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I will go for the lighter blue, with similar style highlights to the darker hood. Throw in some washes in the recesses, to darken it up a bit.

Unfortunately though, nights are on hold, as I treated myself to an early birthday present (18 next Thursday!). Blu-tac-fu'ed for your viewing pleasure:

COTEAZ
First experience of finecast. Can't say I'm a fan. Lots of flash to clean up, the hammer handle was pretty bent, and there were lots of holes! Definitely prefer Forge World resin. That means I need to buy more Death Korps.

Next I primed him.

Paint scheme wise, I don't want his armour to be the normal gold colour., Maybe something this style (probably different colours):

This is beacuse I really want him, to stand out, with only minimal rusting and weathering.
Look forward to hearing everyones thoughts!

Cheers
JP

Small update, just to prove I'm actually doing something.

WIP of Coteaz's eagle and armour. Still got quite a lot of finesse work to do on this bit, haven't even started the whole model yet.

Next update will be when this arm is finished.
Cheers

Hey, just found your blog. Your work on the knights is pretty great and makes me want to pick one up.

Do you find the lead from the pencil rubs off the model if you don't seal it?

Haven't had a problem with it yet, and after rubbing a bit with my finger just now, very little comes off. But I probably should seal it, and will do once I finish the final model.

Also, played a very close game against Tyranids on Saturday. Knights performed well. Their best function seems to be as a direction and damage sponge. I ran 3 vendettas, and 2 knights in my 1850 list, so the knights spearheaded the assault and then let the vendettas do there thing. I made a lot less mistakes than last week which is good.

Small update. Finished the Eagle arm

I may finish the other hammer arm tonight. But I'll save that for a bigger update tomorrow.

Comments and criticism encouraged as always.

When the first influx of guard rumors started to come out, I was quite unhappy as they made my guard build a lot weaker (Vendetta spam). So I panicked and bought a whole new army to play competitive games with. Deciding to be that guy, I went for...

JetSeerStar!

There is the basis of the army, and I'll be trying to build it all in a day and a half, to use in my first game with them on Saturday! Glue fume induced euphoria here I come... Then, after picking up some white spray off a friend, I'll get around to painting them! Going for Iyanden, so it will be interesting.

Thanks
JP
