That you can purchase a full Bolt Action army or Flames of War (PSC) army for the price of one knight thing? In addition, both systems are well supported by rules writers. Indeed, both systems have active forums where rules writers regularly post.

I can purchase two and a half Classic Battletech boxes for the price of one Knight 'Thing'

GW's insane pricing is noting new.

Olympia, if you had mentioned that bolt action marines would make a good stand in for IG, your post would likely have been better received. Instead, you pass on what we all know: GW has crazy prices. Nothing to see here, really.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Hey, players that play other games, did you know that not all of us that play GW games follow the company line of "we are the only game on the market"?

Which would be fantastic, if said 40k gamers were interested in historical gaming.

Why yes, but it's not relevant. If I wanted to play Bolt Action and Flames of War (and I Might in the future) then I'd care.

Now if this was the WHFB forum and you had made a comparison to Kings of War, it would have at least been in the same ballpark (both are fantasy battle systems). But Bolt Action is nothing like 40k.

So umm... nice try?

I could but I don't play historical games. I play games to escape reality, not remind myself of it.

Glad to see that they are resorting to the worst kind of 'advertising' to spread the word of their game.

Heck, I agree that GW prices are insane. But this sleazy marketing nonsense that is mostly spam bothers me more.

Reminds me when I was in Germany and saw their gas prices. What they paid by the Liter was more than some places in the US charge for the Gallon! I don't know what it's like now (this was 2005-2008) but it was a bit of a shock at the time.

I wish we had Kuwait prices. It cost me about $55 to fill my car in Aus (33 L) it would cost $3.30 in Kuwait. A lot of other factors that make Kuwait less desirable though.

Yes this thread is getting derailed to a gas/petrol discussion till it gets locked.

And in spite of how rosey things are for you guys WH40K still dominates this forum and most multi-game wargaming communities online. I'm actually in the process of selling FoW because of a lack of opponents, and I live in the same city as Battlefront.

Not quite as bad, but the rest of the world still pays more for gasoline than America does. Our prices only *seem* high.

And if you go for the cheap stuff you can probably get more.

Note to self buy more alcohol.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

olympia, did you know...That since you made this post, I'm LESS likely to try either of those game systems because I wonder what kind of forum trolls play them and how long it'd be before I'd get sick of them as people?
