Not really. Just waiting to see how they will mess up the site this time make new and exciting improvements for their customer base.

and since there is no news and no rumors, is it time for a mod to close this? probably. go whine about GW in another thread...

Not much whining a the moment. I'm itching to see what the new site brings. And if it's as gray as the rumored screen shots showed.

Folks, let's keep the discussion on-topic here and tone down the spam posting. Thanks!

The free gift works on me. I am a sucker for the modern reimaginings of classic models and artwork. I loved the Anniversary CF and BA models, so they will definitely sell me one of these.

This Captain is a straight up P.I.M.P.

Even got the pimp cane and pimp hand.

That said, I don't like the SB and the skull encrusted scabbard. But hey, that is the model. Own it.

Any one else slightly shocked at how badly this webstore change over has been handled?

... Like seriously, being down for an entire day is embarassing!

You get the new website and store fully functional and active on one server, BEFORE shutting down the old one. And then change where the domain is pointing at, job done with zero down time (well maybe mere seconds)

Theyve instead taken down their store, lost a days worth of sales, and said that patience will be rewarded......
Really ought to be sacking the people handling this changeover now and sueing them for a day of lost sales when there was no reason whatsoever to have any down time.

Oh come on, its not as if they are coming out with a new codex in the next few days that will spur sales or anything...

Lol... new products have totally nothing to do with a new webstore.
The web developers are genuinely taking the piss out of GW on this one. Will have been paid (probably very well) to make this site and get it going.
i.e GW is paying someone to cost them sales in the way mentioned in my last post.

go on Kirby, give that man a raise!

Nope. TBH it would have been kind of shocking if GW hadn't hired the cheapest and least competent people they could find to handle their website. I'm sure their next financial report will brag about how much money they saved.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

so little time left to speculate what it will be like! I'm guessing they have some interactive features that will make purchasing real quick, like drag and drop products into checkout cart.... or not

Do you? You apparently don't realize that is the stock loadout of all terminators, half of the veteran sergeant and captain models they've ever made roughly, and plenty good for several marine special characters.

Either I have been playing wrong, or that loadout is fine because you dont get an extra attack for having a pistol and a PF in 6th edition....

To be fair it may well be the former, but I have been sticking boltguns on all my Tac sgts instead of pistols because you dont get an extra PF attack unless you have x 2 PF right?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Seriously... this is a terrible transition to a new site for all of the reasons others have listed...the new site should have been ready to go with a redirect...sigh...who runs that company?!?!

I assume no matter what it is someone will be mad about it.

And by "someone" I mean "most of the internet".

Two "Specialist Weapons". So a Lighting Claw and a Powerfist works fine.

I hope it's just FAQs. A bit too much build up for them, but it's been a year. They want to make it special.

Careful, if it is FAQs next time we'll have to wait two years and then they'll shut their site down for a week!

Nah, they have to brace their POS systems. The FAQs are now a $1 an update for "processing fees" but you can only buy them in $20 increments.

Spoiler:

In serious, though, I have heard word said that this is a GW/BL combo site and FW isn't being rolled in. So don't get too excited if you're not into some BL stuff. I wish they'd recast some of the BL limited edition minis. Or Space Hulk.

Right thread,... we're all killing time until we get our new site. So why not talk about what we're working on? Only so much 'speculation at this point.

I was warned by my sales rep last week that the site would be down yesterday and today, but back up and running some time Thursday, so it seems to me everything's going exactly as GW planned. I don't have any idea why they thought they needed two days of downtime, but they planned for it.

I've heard the same rumors to include yes FW (eventually), yes FW (only in GW stores/maybe FLGS), no FW and "What's FW?" so I'm not getting two excited.

Besides I play Sisters. I get access to very little from FW.

If not, I'm trying to decide on wether I should save up to get something for my 'game' space marines or my modelling space marines.
Probably my gaming ones.

I like the way you think.

However, I do have a question. Does anyone know the history of changes to the GW website? It would be really interesting to have someone write a compehensive book about GW and its strategies over the years
