I got this off of the BoLS website, I would probably take it with a mountain sized grain of salt, but who knows...

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

Forgeworld Kit - Knight Lancer
Release date: Q3 2014
Fills a FAST ATTACK slot in an Imperial Knight Detachment
If somebody from Forge World reads this and thinks it would be cool, it might become true in time
That said, the Lancer is vaguely described as "better" / "superiour" to the Errant/Paladin in the Graham McNeill novel that came with the Imperial Knighs release. It's worn by the head of the house, a HQ thing if anything at all.
Knights of the Imperium p. 58 wrote:
"I did", said Nemonix. "I have studied the pict captures and bio-readers from this year's Cull. And if I were being unkind, I might say that Roland has a distinct advantage in the Cull."
"What advantage?"
"His Lancer armour."
Cassia sighed, almost disappointed. "No, he doesn't war his Lancer armour during the Cull. He says it would give him an edge over the others."
"Indeed he doesn't wear his Lancer armour during the Cull <...> Roland wears ordinary Errant armour on the Cull ...

I wonder how well the knights have been selling so far - I imagine the long time fans have been eating them up.
I certainly hope the sales have been good enough to greenlight forgeworld add-on kits.

I think it's unlikely (at least in the form shown described) which is a whole new kit what's much more likely is a conversion kit with different weapon arms, and maybe alternate bits for the head/torso I don't expect the legs or core of the model to change (if only because of the price they'd need to charge)

I fully expect FW variants to be shown at the open day or HH weekender events. What I'm not sure of is whether you'll get the full knight kit on top of the resin bits (like with older releases like the landraider variants) or whether the "extra" standard sprues will be removed like with the Rvarna missing the normal Riptide weapons.

It's hard to say. I know when the model pics were first leaked, I wanted 5-6 of them for a whole army.
Then the rules leaked and I still haven't even bought one.
Making it a superheavy was the dumbest thing GW could have done, because now I will rarely ever get to play with even one, let alone a whole army of them.
Regarding a FW variants, I think we all expected FW to create conversion kits. I doubt FW will make an entire model, though.

Well there are two different interpretations of a Lancer there is the early epic and later epic versions. The original lancers circa 1990 were chicken legged with just a cannon on top and a small defensive gun. The later epic design 1994 are more like the paladin but slightly taller with legs that appear less armored, despite having a better save, and a shock lance instead of the chainsword. With the new fluff describing lancers as superior, difficult to manufacture, and prefered for modification by barons to hunt titans... I dunno if this sounds like that. It does sound like they've now mixed the two.

Easy way to tell it is false- "fills a FA slot in a Knight Detachment"
There are no specific slots in the Knight Detachment.
Newer Lancer fluff seems to be that they are more agile and "elite" than Paladins and Errants. The old Baron model was indeed equipped the same as the Lancer, with a battle cannon and power lance.
Having a fist would be nice to mount on a proper Errant, but makes no sense in a Lancer kit. And why a single kit? Why not make it a Lancer/Baron? And why mount it on a smaller Flier oval? They invested in making the new Knight oval, so I would imagine that they would use it again, as well as start using it for other kits (Squiggoth?)
Some of the descriptions sound cool, but I highly doubt this rumor.
Looking at these designs, the main difference in the Lancer is the much longer legs, while the Crusader is mostly a weapon swap of the Paladin. Both have some minor armor adjustments here and there. They both seem like FW scale projects, using the main body of the plastic knight, with new legs and arms for the Lancer, and extra armor and alternate weapons for the Crusader.

Yea, "Fills a fast attack slot" is kinda a dead giveaway. Honestly dissappointed in how this rumour monger didn't even know one of the most basic intrinsic knight rules.

The Fast Attack slot part of the rumor probably has to do with FW's Horus Heresy books and the ever growing Adeptus Mechanicus list in those books. It's also possible that within those books FW gives Knights their own army list with a full FOC and a number of unit choices.
