Wherever they tell me

Afternoon everyone,

With the inclusion of Imperial Knights, I'd like to see the return of the superheavy damage table. This is my idea:

1-5: No damage
6: Chain reaction
---Suffer another hull point in damage and all weapons gain +1 on this table
7: Weapon destroyed
---A random weapon is destroyed
8: Drive damaged
---Subtract 3" from the maximum move distance
9: Critical hit
---Suffer D3+3 hull points in damage
10+: Catastrophic damage
---Suffer D6+6 hull points in damage

Destroyer weapons change to:
-Ignore cover and invulnerable saves must be rerolled
-Always score a penetrating hit against vehicles
-Always deal D6 wounds against non-vehicles (roll once per shot)

Tyranids 10000 points
Orks 3500 points
Raven Guard 3000 points

5th Edition Apocalypse rules would work just as well instead.

I played a game with a small superheavy using the old rules. God they're actually pretty fragile!

It seems really stupid to me, to add these game dominating behemoths, but then remove their detail by removing the superheavy damage chart.

For the above chart, I'd recommend maybe 4-5 being "+1 on future rolls". Wanna emphasize the 'grind them down over six turns' thing

Edit; Also possibly have the ability to 'target' certain systems, in particular aiming for the legs to increase drive damaged chance at an expense of overall power

The D-strength rule of completely ignoring invulnerable saves seem tacked on to hard-counter things like the Screamer star or the Tzeentchilist super-prince.

I don't give GW that much credit.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
