So, with escalation finally becoming less controversial, and being out the for a while I want to know about any games you have played against a super-heavy (without any of your own) and managed to take it down. Mine was a 1000 point game angaist on ork stompa, Onother guy and I both took a 500 point team and played as one team, while we fought the ork army, it took a TON of rapid fire list building, and some serious luck with the psychic powers on my sorcerer, (Doombolt, Breath of chaos, and telekinetic dome!) and a TON of heavy weapons from my ally (he honestly did most of the work, I just fought the few boyz and the warboss he had on the field, for most of the game) But we managed to take the thing down.

How about you?

I coached a friend when he was fighting a revenant eldar titan. He had no super heavies and the eldar player had his army with the titan in it. I told him to deepstrike 40 warriors and 2 monoliths right next to the titan and it was dead next turn. modest necron warriors brought down the beast with their glancing rule and my friend was not impressed.

Im pretty sure the glancing rule doesn't affect super heavies......

Also, Deep striking Farsight, 3 melta gun crisis suits, Ovesa and another crisis commander ready to fight tanks giving tank hunters killed a Khorne lord of skulls in one go, then the blast scattered over them and killed all but Ovesa.

Another time, I deep struck a crisis team lead by a Fusion Blades crisis commander right in front of a brass scorpion and in the subsequent turn when all the commanders friends where dead, him un-phased and the scorpion charging he 2-punched that bad boy straight back to the warp, sealing his own fate in a Titanic explosion. Fusion Blades commanders are tanks

I'm pretty sure it's not true. Permanent armour reductions (ala Entropic Strike) have no effect, but Super Heavies aren't immune to anything else as far as I can recall.

Thats what i thought too, thats why they where given hull points and so on.

First game out I lost my knight to a second turn round of shooting from enemy lascannon devs. All four shots hit, all four pen'd, shield saved nothing and all 4 explode resulting in stripping all the hull points off. Very demoralising at the time that my expensive walker had managed to shuffle a grand total of 12 inches and kill a pitiful 2 sternguard with his cannon before dying.

On the flipside the same turn my Assault Centurions stripped the enemy knight down to a single hull point in assult before getting d-weapon'd to death, when my opponent followed up to charge my MOTF he got lucky with his combi melta and took the thing out on overwatch.

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex

My mom's Nob managed to get a headshot on my charging Celestine with his Slugga during Overwatch. She had 1 hit point left before that.

Does that count?

...Honestly, haven't used any superheavies yet. Not even the Baneblade I bought 2-3 years ago that has a nice layer of dust accumulating on its primed but unpainted hull.

I don't play games that are big enough to justify using a superheavy. Actually, I haven't played a game in months. I think I have an in-progress game still sitting there that's from last July or something.

As someone who plays saint Celestine I can feel your pain. You get used to her dieing to stupid things, I lose mine to overwatch fire so often.

You'd be wrong. SHV can still be glanced as normal. They just ignore most of the vehicle penetration table.

This isn't exactly a super takedown, but I was playing SW against a Necron Player in an escalation league. That week, everyone was allowed to proxy in a Super-Heavy from the original Escalation book. I didn't, so when I saw a Proxy Transcendant C'tan I thought I was screwed. We rolled the mission that gave all objective holders Fleshbane, Armorbane, and Interceptor. I had lots of DS'ing Grey Hunters.
It was lol'worthy.

abit old but when apocolypse first came out and we had the witchunters codex I had a pair of jump pack cannoness charge a baneblade with eviscerators, both made their hand of the emperor checks, 8 strength 10 2d6 armor penetrating attacks, all hit all penned and the explosion didn't kill them. That was a great moment.
