Hello Dakka Dakka!
I am running a semi-small apocalypse game with my local group, but I need some ideas to shake things up a bit.
So far I am planning to use the Death World rules, any ideas of what other things I can use to make the game interesting?

Snacks. You definitely need snacks.

Not just any kind of snacks!
You gotta step your snack game up if this is an apoc game we are talking here.
Something that wont send your players to the bathroom due to greasy cheese powder or other "flavoring"
You should also consider the residue left on fingers and how it will effect the table, books, minis dice and smell! All of these need to be kept at tolerable levels to maintain the fun of the event

Well this one's going to depend on the Death World, but if it's a jungle you could have it be a giant cartel bust. One game, we had four objectives. Three of them were "shrooms" and the fourth was "this pile of white stuff".
Just some stupidity to throw into the game to make it more fun. If you're not getting your buddies together to re-enact some really important fluff battle, silliness is always welcome in the scenario.

Depending on how your group plays, set the scene, tell some back story on why the apoc is happening. One apoc I played had 2 baneblades on each end of the table that either army could get in and use. I also like having 2 tables seperated with bridges connecting them. Adds tactics.
Now onto snacks. This is a must but keep them to a moderate amount, were here to play apoc and argue over plastic toys, not snack all day. Also get some juice boxes, won't spill and everyone loves them. Even if they don't think they do. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, depending on how many points your playing you may want to time your turns. Say an hour per turn for example

You need a theme! A story! A narrative. Also, snacks, templates, apoc templates, rules, apoc rules, codecies for ALL armies being played (plays should bring the codex for their army!), and dice. Also, terrain, terrain, terrain and a big ass table. Don't be like these people!

Thanks for the ideas, I was thinking to use a bridge for 2 tables, and I think the juice boxes are going to help. i I'm also trying to see if anyone has any ideas for like rules, one example of this could be the death world rules from white dwarf, anyone have anything ideas like that?

If you haven't played any Apoc games, I'd just play a straight up game the first time. There is already so much to learn.
Otherwise, the Apocalypse rule book has 3 or 4 scenarios in it. Pick one and work your story/narrative around it!
Have fun!

This, infact for our game we removed the disasters part because it was already so much.
