HQ Ahriman Warpsmith w/AoDG, MoT, Combi-melta Troops 10xCSM w/VotLW, MoN, PG, MG Rhino w/Extra Armour 9xCSM w/MoN, MG Rhino w/Extra Armour 10xTS Rhino w/Extra Armour 9xTS Rhinow/Extra Armour Fast Attack Heldrake w/Baleflamer (surprise surprise) 5xRaptors w/MoN, 2xMG Heavy Support Chaos Vindicator w/Siege Shield Chaos Vindicator w/Siege Shield The idea for this group is to rush forward with Ahriman joining the 9-man TS squad and the Warpsmith joining the 9-man CSM squad in their rhinos. The TS squads form the front line with the 10-man CSM squad come from behind to hold onto any reasonable objectives and/or provide support. The Warpsmith's squad will follow the Vindicators unless they can be of more use elsewhere. The Heldrake does what the Heldrake do and the Raptors are a suicide Melta squad. TBH, as much as I like the Raptor models they weren't my first pick on units. I'm only using them because I already have the models assembled and thought I might as well use them. Any tips or tricks are welcomed. Many thanks in advance.

From my experience with chaos, I think your spending too much on a HQ. I think a sorcerer will perform a little lesser than Ahriman but save points. But that's what you want to do so I'm going leave that untouched.
First problem. Your anti air. you have none. You can cut off some thousand sons until you have a 6-7 man squad plus the aspiring sorcerer. Use the points to buy an aegis line with a quad gun. drop one of the CSM squads. CSMs are useless in my honest opinion. replace them with a 100 point cultist ball. sit them behind your newly purchased aegis so you can hold an objective in your base. I think you need a more consistent heavy support. I haven't counted points removed on this list. If you are low, go Tri las pred. If you have around 200+ go three man obliterator squad. These will consistently be effective anti armor for you.

The warpsmith already has a meltagun in his default loadout
I would not mix special weapons on squads. Melta guns and plasma guns engage two totally different targets, and CSM cannot splitfire. Thats longfangs ur thinking of, form the SW codex.
Vindicators need daemonic possession. Thats not an optional upgrade on them. If you get a penn hit on you, your vindicator will not fire next turn, or for the rest of the game, on 5/6 of the penn results
DO NOT put tsons on the front line. They die just the same as vanilla CSM to bolter fire. You always want to protect your tsons. In addition, they cannot overwatch and are very slow moving due to S&P. Why you would look at them and say "This is a good frontline unit" confuses me.

@ changerofways the title clearly says "fluffy." So who cares if he wants to roll tsons.
That being said I agree they are a bit overpriced and you should not split your special weapons into seperate profiles.
If you want to use Vinds use your rhinos to block los on side armour and roll your whole army up.

Yep, CSM should screen your TSons.
CSM have plenty of uses.
Considering how killy Ahriman can be, I'd maybe consider having him with some of the CSM instead of the TSons?
Ahriman AND a squad of TSons will overkill just about any infantry unit you point them at.
Warpsmith is already LD10, why VOTLW on his unit?
Strip VOTLW & Extra Armour, nab Daemonic Possession for your Vindis, use the 10pts to buy yourself something nice. You've earned it.

For the Ahriman choice, I have no problems replacing him as a regular Sorcerer (3++ is nice to have), I just wanted to represent my Sorcerer as a powerful guy who can dish out the magic. I did consider Obliterators but I couldn't remember if IW were comfortable using them even though the that virus originated from their legion. If someone can clear that up for me I might change a Vindicator for a Obliterator or two. Also, currently at my LFGS fliers aren't in great abundance yet but when I do come across them I auto-take a ADL anyways. So like you said, I'll sacrifice some bodies for the ADL when the need arrives.

So just to be clear, you guys are telling me that I should equip the marines with a set of weapons that focus on one job rather then trying to do a utility thing, right? And thanks for the tip with the Rhino shields.

Sorry, the VotLW should have been on the 10-man squad of CSM. And besides, the VotLW was a filler I wasn't sure where to put so I would have no qualms replacing that.
