what is your reasoning for the archon? Blank they suck. If you want a cheap HQ Haemonculi actually does something with no upgrades. Other than that I like the first list. Ravagers are your best unit and vs tau they are very effective vs their Riptides and their Sky rays. I am also not a fan of large warrior groups in a raider because 1 dark lance is not worth the two splinter cannons of the venom. I think MSU, especially vs tau, is your best shot.

I don't have my haemunculus built yet, and fluff wise, I run purely kabal lists. Thanks for the input though, I think I have to agree that the first list I Was leaning towards. Especially since one of my trueborn squads will sit in terrain and pump out the 2 splint cannons.
