Retook pictures of all my models (except for the C'tan, my daughter leaned on it and now I have to repair). I used a lightbooth and adjusted the settings on my camera. While I can see how I have improved, I can also see much room for improvement, especially blown up on a 32inch monitor. But here they are for your review.

Scarab:

Immortal:

Deathmark:

Wraith:

Overlord:

I like your colour scheme.
Maybe try to thin your paints a little more, it gives you more control

I agree with badkamer, thinning out your paints will really help your models look a lot better. I'd also recommend using some washes on the metallics as well, to give them a bit of depth.

But the colour scheme definitely is nice and different than your typical all-silver Necrons, I like it!

Your overlord looks like it has a headache.

The scheme is nice but It could do with some heavy clean up as well as highlighting. it looks very flat and there is no dimension. as well the OSL looks wrong out the glow within the green.

Also the theme doenst tie in well with the scarab as it only has 2 out of 4 colors.

well the scarab was done wrong in a lot of ways. I used enamel paints on it instead of acrylic, and I hadn't sat down and thought what colours I really wanted to be on my Necrons as a whole. I am going to be taking classes on doing those techniques you have mentioned over the next month. Eventually I will probably strip the scarabs down and re-do them. Only problem with that is that enamel paint actually bonds with the plastic and they will lose detail when striped. When I saw the picture of the overlord it looks very different than the model itself...you can't see the headache look in person (but I am going to fix that eventually).

I definitely would not recommend using enamel paints for Warhammer miniatures, since those types of paint aren't meant for these types of models. For model cars, they're fine, but they're generally a much thicker paint and will hide a lot of the model's details. Not to mention that they dry far slower than acrylic paint, which will drag out the painting process exponentially.

If you're serious about wanting to improve your painting, then definitely look into using acrylic paints.

The scarab was the only model with enamel. I learned from that mistake quickly. I now use GW paints.
