The idea here is pretty straight forward. Coteaz mans the Quad Gun with his Warband. Two 3++ and his own 2+ aren't shabby. Plus, the stealing thing is handy-dandy. The Jokaero will at the least bump me to +12" on their shooting, though Rending would be pretty sweet. The Crusaders would most likely have Power Axes. The warband is also scoring thanks to Coteaz, which puts the list at six scoring units, give or take. The Infantry Squads blob up with the Lord Commissar and hunker down behind the Aegis or in some form of useful terrain (ideally on an objective) and enjoy that camo cloak perk, while tossing out some autocannon shots. Vendetta squadron is there just to blow away enemy flyers - which six TL Lascannons can and will do. Plus, they can always opt to lay into tougher armor on the table, if push comes to shove. Scoring PCS rides along in one of the Vendettas, jumping out and either going out in a literal blaze of glory or just camping in cover on an objective. The Errants toss mean Melta at anything with an armor value. One gets the whole +1 BS/WS and 3++ shield for being Walord and they are all scoring, which is great. Just got to deploy smart if I see Drop Pods, etc. The Paladin is there to hit anything with a 3+ save and of course, all three sling the D CCWs.

No clue how this would hold up in any kind of competitive environment. Entirely relies on the fact that I can score two more Knights (and the Inquisition detachment, but that is chump change compared to the Knights).

Does this look strong? Could it hold its own in the metagame? Just curious. I want to be able to field Knights and this is about all I could figure to do with them. Is that Warband too small? Should I scrap the monkeys for more Crusaders? Should I opt out of Coteaz? Any ideas to improve the list?

I don't play knights but I do play Orks and IG and have had a bit of experience running my Stompa.

I have found that to prevent my Stompa being killed quickly its best to put tons of Boyz around it. This will prevent guys deep striking in close and hitting me with massed a melta and it also prevents being assaulted by something with Melta bombs. You could take this same angle with your IG. I would run a 50 man Blob tooled up for mobile shooting and CC. Good for either counter assault or speed bumping. Cotaez would be good to put in this squad as his added abilities are great for a blob. I wouldn't bother with henchmen though as they will give up an easy kill point.

The PCS with 5 flamers is great for running inside a Vendetta they are a great late game scoring unit with a lot of mobility that can put out a solid amount of fire power vs Infantry. I wouldn't worry about trying to take a squadron of Vendettas though as squads of flyers can be a real pain to operate with together.

The LC can be another good option to throw into the blob giving it a bit of Stubborn redundancy and CC punch.

Don't forget to put Melta bombs on the blob as these will cut through Super heavies like a hot knife through butter. You may never get them into combat with the super heavy but you might keep some distance between you and your opponent.

So, based on that. How about:

Imperial Knight Primary Detachment

Knight Errant (Warlord)
[370]

Knight Paladin
[375]

Imperial Guard Detachment

HQ:
Lord Commissar
Camo Cloak

Fast Attack:
Vendetta

Heavy:
Manticore
[160]

Fortification:
Aegis Defense Line
Quad Gun
[100]

Inquisition Detachment

HQ:
Coteaz
[100]

[2000]

My big worry would be the Lord Commissar blasting Coteaz. Maybe I should go Primaris instead? Just a thought.

The FAQ states that Commissar only shoot models form C: IG so that won't be an issue.

"In battle, you're either killing or dying. So don't stop not dying!"

"The enemies of Mankind may employ dark sciences or alien weapons beyond Humanity's ken, but such deviance come to naught in the face of honest human intolerance backed by a sufficient number of guns"

What does Coatez bring to your list that a 55pt prescience inquisitor doesn't apart from 'I'll be expecting you'?

Re-rolling seize rolls is handy, but not the end-all.

The idea was using him to help fend off Drop Pods by tossing him in the blob squad and using "I've been expecting you" to shoot them up before they do anything. That blob puts out a lot of firepower, so it could put a hurt on Melta squads trying to take out my Knights.

So... how about this!

Leaves me with 128pt to spend. I have a few options, obviously. I could toss the additional crewmen for an extra bit if I wanted to throw back in that other Vendetta, but I really with I had the points for the Manticore. Thoughts? Ideas on direction? I have a HUGE IG collection to pull from, so I am open to ideas.
