It looks interesting. Automatically Appended Next Post: Clarifying, I do NOT mean the mental issue. As to why you assume I was talking about that in a gaming forum, thats any ones guess.

It's a tabletop roleplaying game. If you've never played one before, it's not the best one to start with.
Also, you need a *very* good DM in order to make it fun. The DM has to be meticulous to details while maintaining a good sense of humor. It's a unique sense of rules naziism and morbid humor at the expense of the characters but not the players.
The game is unfair, you will die a lot, and you will start to take character mutations from your clones. The setting is a dystopian future where rules are strangely absolute. Players start, for example, with Blue access. They may *only* access pathways and rooms in blue. They are given a task in the red sector by the omnipotent omnipresent authoritative AI government... but they don't have clearance to step foot on red pathways. One of the players ends up being clumsy and stepping on a ketchup packet and is summarily executed. The player gets a clone of their character... but they're colorblind...
...and so on...

It's Orwell's 1984 crossed with Logan's Run crossed with the Three Stooges, in an RPG.
Dark, evil, scary, and very very silly.

Hmm, where would I start? I figure I'll need the rulebook (Though dont know which Edition) and the DM guide, anything else?

Pretty much any edition will do although if you're buying adventures you probably want to try and make sure they're the same version
as the game is much more about roleplaying than mechanics

Just find an adventure or two. It is a better game if the players don't know the rules. The game is very amusing, but works better being played in a one-off style and format.
The Computer is your friend. Please report for summary execution.

Friend Computer recommends Paranoia XP, troubleshooter. You'll be the most happy with that edition. You want to be happy, right, troubleshooter? Unhappiness is treason.

Did they change the way that the color system worked? It used to follow the classic ROY G BIV order of the color spectrum, with players starting as Red (Infrared rank was technically lower, but players were assumed to have been promoted out of that classification). Blue would actually be in the upper half of the ranks. Thus, a Blue character would be allowed to enter Red areas, but not vice versa.
