So,

A helbrute deepstrikes in a forest, does anybody hear? In all seriousness, what happens to yon brute when he fails his dangerous terrain check?

Does he take a hullpoint? Is he also immobilized?

He is immediately immobilised upon arrival should he fail the test.

That is it.

You also lose a hull point, as per BRB FAQ: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3440036a_40K_RULEBOOK_v1.5_September_13.pdf
Page 71– Vehicles, Difficult and Dangerous Terrain. Change the final sentence to “A vehicle that fails a Dangerous Terrain test immediately suffers an Immobilised result from the Vehicle Damage table, including losing one Hull Point”.

A regular forest does not require a dangerous terrain check from a walker. BRB p. 84 section moving walkers.

If the terrain crossed is dangerous though, a test is needed and if failed means immobilised.

Walkers follow rules for infantry: they do not take a dangerous terrain upon deepstriking into forests.

Mishap if you hit a tree though...

errr... I thought when you deepstrike and land in difficult terrain, you have to take a dangerous terrain test. If you do, then, given the answers above, you'd be immobilized.

This is not accurate.
Walkers treat Difficult Terrain as if they were Infantry, and only count it as dangerous if Infantry would do (page 84). However, Infantry do indeed count difficult terrain as dangerous if Deep Striking into it (page 36) so therefore Walkers do too.

It's one of the rules in the Helbrute Dataslate. Linky: http://www.blacklibrary.com/games-workshop-digital-editions/Dataslate-Helbrutes.html

I though so, but can't find it on page 36?
FAQ maybe?
