I am a fledgling young Eldar player, and I'd like to make myself some jetbike models for a Seer Council. I should start by saying that I already have a general idea of what I want to do - I'll probably try to use Chapterhouse's conversion kits just for a Farseer (possibly a second), but I'd like to go off of someone else's idea and use the base of heavy weapon platforms for the Warlocks. Trouble is (and I know, this is already an expensive endeavor no matter what I do), I'd like to avoid dropping a ton of money on this.

So here's my question: does anyone know of a place where I might buy just the bases for the weapon platforms? I've checked a few bitz sites, but only one was selling the base, specifically, and it was out of stock. If at all possible, I'd rather not have to buy a ton of weapon platforms with extra shield/gun bits that will never get used.

Any advice?

The weapons platform bases are about half the size of a jetbike. Are you trying to replace the bike or make them look different? If cheapness is what you want, just green stuff a cloak on some regular jetbike riders and give them swords. A Guardian storm squad set should do you nicely.

Little bit of both, really. I started out just wanting a cheaper alternative to buying a boat-load of bikes and trying to convert them with Warlocks, but I like the idea of running something different. Also, if the base size is really a big deal (we're pretty casual at my FLGS, after all), I figure I can always swap 'em out for bigger ones.

As for green stuff, well...I've never used it before, and I have no idea how to use it, much less use it to make something that looks decent (compared to an actual GW model, that is).

try ebay for the bases? just like bits sites, they often have singular bits. Id perhaps keep an eye on a few bits sites incase any come into stock.

As im afraid, unless you want to shell out a fair bit of cash to get either the bikes, or like 7 guardian kits, the only option is ebay or bits sites.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.
