Ever since Codex: Inquisition dropped I have had a nagging urge to build an inquisitorial force, I always loved the fluff and the models look cool so here goes nothing.

As always comments and criticism are appreciated, as are suggestions. Also I apologize is advance for the poor quality of some of the photos, I'm still getting used to this camera.

Front and back views of my Inquisitor, he still needs a little painting and hands with needle pistols, after all you have to be epic to have two rare guns...

Acolytes with carapace armour and bolters, pretty standard IG with SM scouts arms and GS groin guards.

My mystic/phyker, so happy I could find this model, always loved it and she was a blast to paint.

The Imperial Creed - Follow it! (Deathcult Assassins)

Thats all for now, I might have an update in the next few days, still on the fence about the assassins paint scheme

So the assassins are painted, I must say they turned out better then I thought they would, and the camera didn't foul up as much this go around so they actually look good.

So now I'm working on a couple (three or four) acolytes with a variety of specialist weapons, I'll post up some photos in the next couple of days, still hitting a wall with the needle pistols, not sure how to model them.

Anyhow, you all have a good spring, if you're this far north, stay warm.

As you have no doubt heard, the IG is being renamed the Astra Militarium, not a huge fan, mostly because I prefer the name Imperial Guard, but such is life. Also they got new storm troopers (tempest- some thing I can't pronounce) I must say I love the new look, it is functional yet ornate and they got berets and wrist computer screens and all sorts of good stuff, the kit is a converters dream, easily on par with the Catachan CCS kit.

I have found though that some of the changes are a little disheartening though. My current storm troopers are lovingly converted from Cadian, Catachan and High Elf bits with a very tricky to paint camouflage pattern, all of them have customized weapons and they are easily some of my best models in terms of workmanship (still wip with some of the paint, belts as stuff mostly) there is one problem though. In 5th a Storm Trooper sergeant can take a bolter, so, because I like the look of bolters, this srg has a cut down bolter. In the new codex however, he is only allowed pistols so now I have a model that I love, but is technically no longer legal in the game, I don't want to convert him and it would be a bit tricky to build a new one.

My local gaming club is very easy going so it won't be an issue but it still feels a bit sad, every edition seems to take away more options, even though a lot of them where no good or never used, it was fun to have the option to take random gear. Honestly I would like the option to take stub guns or specific bionics or officers of more then two ranks, I would love officially sanctioned character creation rules and more units with no official models, just instructions on how to convert them.

Sorry about the rant, just a few of my thoughts on a myriad of loosely connected subjects.

Even though I'm focusing on Inquisitors with this blog thing, my first love is still the good old Guard, Currently I'm running a 1700 point light infantry list that, while not overly competitive, is a load of fun and kicks a fair bit of backside. Later today I'll post some pictures of my Guard, and if you want, I can make a tutorial for good looking carapace armour, using styrene sheet (plasticard) and a sharp knife.

Legs (you need to cut them off the torsos)

the arms and bodys came from this kit (again I did a lot of cutting, the hidden blades are just styrene strips and the knife came from the bits box)

Awesome! Thanks.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to just get the bitz from the elves, and the cultists are super cheap. Simple but effective!

That kit has some not to bad female heads that I have gotten a lot of use out of.

I love those cultists, you can do so much with them, I kind of want to get a few more to make Browncoat IG one day...

Spoiler:

Besides I'm halfway there with this mini

Remember how I said I would give all a carapace armour tutorial? Well here it is, first take your standard Cadian.

Now trim down his chest, groin, knees, back and any other area you want armour plates on.

Once thats done take some thin styrene sheet (plasticard) and cut out armour plates, I have a back plate, two arm guards, a chest and groin protector and knee pads.

Now glue them to the areas you flattened out earlier.

I find that its better to trim the knee pad corners after they're on the model. It takes about 5 minutes per model and as you can see it looks pretty good as well as being very adaptable to whatever design you like. Like Bastonne and his squad of assault troops....

So first of all, I think I have the bugs on my camera mostly conquered, now my lighting is giving me grief, oh well such is life...

Today I have my WIP Storm Troopers, now Scions, again I love how they turned out and the camo was a lot of fun as well.

terrible picture of a Melta gunner:

And a trooper:

The Sarge with his Bolter and close combat weapon:

Finally I need mask ideas on these two boys, I'm afraid I have a bit of painters block at the moment.

I also finished one of my Acolytes, love the pose and it was begging for a little more action.

Blam!

My =I=nquisitor also got a bounty hunter style acolyte, he's got a partner waiting painting right now.

He's got a license and everything

Finally, remember that guy I put the armour on? Well he is now part of a new unit, the 3rd Heavy Infantry, deathworld grenadiers with a love of plasma

So I'm taking a brief vacation and using the time to take 'inventory' of what I have and what I need for my next few weeks of modeling.

My next purchase will be a squad or two of Tempestus Scions and the Cadian CCS, it should give me the parts I need for a full Tempestus Platoon, after that I could use a new sentinel squadron or an Imperial Knight, still on the fence, I love both but I'll only be able to afford one.

Still wondering on mask designs, all ideas are welcome.

also, where are the heads from that you used on your strorm troopers? They look like they're from that game Army of Two, which is awesome.

They came from a high elf kit and got the knife and file treatment to make them look like something from T.W.O.... originally they had regular cadian heads but it was not a good look for them.
