Right i know people tend to get Egg about Perpetual convos "they are stoopid" and the like but how does it work?

Bare in mind that i am only half way through Vulkan lives (ive read everything before then) so if any answers are "oh this happens in the next book" id appreciate it if you could not ruin anything and just say "you find out later"

Scenario

Grammticus gets incinerated by a plasma Blastgun from a warhound... what happens next?

obviously he dies but is he born again? does he just appear back on the other side of the planet a few hours later? is he born again on the other side of the galaxy? what happens?

do the Cabal bring him back? does the warp bring him back? why do they always say "there arnt so many of us left anymore" thought perpetuals keep coming back? so how do they die?

are there perpetuals from other races?

i know a lot of questions but asmany non spoiler answers as possible would be great!!

In the grim darkness of the far future, pepetuals are the most unlucky people possible. They can't die.
Two kinds of perpetuals have been described so far:
The first kind gets reincarnated in a different body, the second kind gets revived through cellular regeneration. They can survive absolutely anything. The only thing capable of killing a perpetual is a mysterious artifact known as Fulgurite. Perpetuals are created by genetic modification, there are no perpetuals from other races afaik, but in the case of Grammaticus, he was modified as a perpetual by an Eldar, so I assume it could be a form of Eldar science. They also have those spirit stones after all.
I am not sure what type of perpetual Grammaticus is, so either he is reborn (I don't know where or when. I did not read the book) or he simply regenerates and jumps back up.

They can only be killed by another Perpetual cutting off their head in a sword duel. The winning Perpetual then absorbs the slain one's knowledge and power in an event known as "The Quickening". Eventually, all the remaining Perpetuals will be drawn to a single place at the same time in order to determine which one of them will take "The Prize", a mysterious gift that can be claimed only by the Last Perpetual.

Their battle-cry is, "Their must only be me!"

You joke but given GWs habit of "borrowing" other source material I really wouldn't put it past them. Hell by the time HH is over Ollinuis will end up beheading Horus to save the Emperor before jetting off to another galaxy to lead Legions 2 and 18 who are all super powerful psykers that fight with swords of ancient C Tan technology that have blades made of pure light..............

Then the "not evil" half will have to blow up the "deathstar" before it fires a big laser at Narnia?

I'm not a eldar buff, but as I recall aren't the Eldar Aspect founders kinda perpetual in that they take over the body of any one who wears their armor?
