Hey all, here's my proposed 1500 point list to take to a competition. Top level players so be harsh! My only restriction is jetbikes: I don't have any and as such cannot use them for the competition! Forge World is allowed as are Lords of War. My list is as follows:

Farseer - Singing Spear, Jetbike, Mantle of the Laughing God

Dire Avengers x5 - Wave Serpent with Holofields and Scatter Lasers
x4

Warp Spiders x10
Swooping Hawks x10 - Exarch with Sunrifle and Night Vision

Warp Hunter - Holofields

For the hawks, I would take 2 units of 6 plain instead of one unit of 10 with goodies, you get the extra template which good.

I'd take more spiders or lances on a few serpents, your soooo weak against AV13+ with this list. Even dropping a serpent for a knight could be an option. I can't see what the hawks add here, to me they are a support unit or anti hoard, both of which there are many better options for.

I would trim the Hawks unit down to 6 basic guys, drop 1 Warp Spider, drop the Warp Hunter, and add a stock Wraithknight. As said above, you really need something to deal with AV13+. I wouldn't drop a serpent, you might need them against flyer spam lists.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm dropping the hawks as their main role was going to be anti-tank but that's not really optimal. I don't have the funds for a Wraithknight but I picked up some Wraithguard instead. My revised list is as follows:

MantleSeer as before
Spiritseer
3x 5 Avengers in Serpents
5 Wraithguard with D-Scythes in a Serpent
10 Warp Spiders
Warp Hunter.

I know I'm still weak to AV13+ but my Spiders can get into side/rear armour and there's a lot of distort weapons in this list. I'm expecting Riptides and Biker armies so I figured the Scytheguard are the best response. Any more thoughts?

For 1500 points it looks very competitive, my only advice is plan on what you are going to do as you set up so your not left hoping for a break.

The plan is to sit back and use my superior range to take out key units, whilst advancing up with the Wraithguard. Once I've pulled the teeth out of the enemy army I'll position for objectives. It's kinda vague but it's a plan'

Get a Fire Prism. The range and effectiveness of it's weapon puts it above that of the Knight against AV 14 and on Par at AV 13. And for the cost of a Knight, you can have two.

Warp spiders are 19 points for 2 S: 6 shots. Back them down to 7 and slap a Shuriken Cannon on all of your Serpents for More S: 6 and a handful more points.

Otherwise, have fun and smile evilly at anyone that cries about how OP Serpents are.

Ironically, I use very few Serpents because they're so over powered and take the fun out of it for me. The comment was directed at him, seeing as to how he has 4 Serpents already I get the feeling he DOESN'T hate Serpents. And if you're taking such a spammy and cheesy list, you might as well have some fun with it.

Couldnt you just put TL bright lances on the serpents. Thats plenty of anti AV
