Just notice that a kickstarter is in the last few days 'Russian Trucks of World War II'

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1030835091/russian-trucks-of-world-war-two

This is not the great 'give away' that was Winter War, but there are some really nice trucks involved that you may want to take a look at.

Also for anyone who missed out on Winter War (and the first shipment has all but now been completed - thank goodness) there is a chance for people to pick up Finnish and Russian Platoons at discounted pricing (£45 and £60 respectively).

Presently unlocked stretch goals are:

Cargo Truck

Refuelling Truck

Canvas topped Truck

Stretch goals presently outstanding are:

Radio Truck

Mobile Gun – SU-12

Destroyed Truck

and

GAZ AA with BM-8-40 Katyusha (Little Katie)

I have to warn you though this was a very short kickstarter and there is less than 5 days left of it. (Sorry for not posting earlier but I am chock-a-block with work.)

That refueler truck is gorgeous, If I had the funds I'd back this in a second, but unfortunately I can't do it.

I'll pick one up if it becomes available on the site though.

@erratyk - The 'refueling truck' is already unlocked so come October(ish) you should be able to get one from the company direct. )

Well, meh. I'd really love some Russian style trucks for 40K civilian vehicles, but unlike the winter war kickstarter these guys did (where you could get a huge pile of figures for a crazy good price - I'd have done it in a heartbeat if I had any use for them), this is basically trucks for the same price you can get Russian truck plastic models on e-bay. Still some interesting stuff though!

@Kestral - I did warn this was not the great 'give away' the Winter War kickstarter was.

The breakdown of the casting machine and the subsequent outsourcing of figure production hit Gav hard financially, so he looked at ways of recouping some semblance of normality in his finances - hence running this small kickstarter to help recoup the cost of repairs to the casting machine.

Of course these resin vehicles are priced generally at close to what others vehicles are on the market, but as Gav is treating it as an extension to the Winter War kickstarter he has now also included some add-ons with the basic Russian and Finnish Platoons being specifically discounted.

I for one think the chap is worth backing, and sure this time there is no bonanza of goodies for backers, but I look on this kickstarter as helping a small company who has shown their customer centric philosophy as the driving force and ethos of the business. I guess I look on this kickstarter as literally being an 'extension of the Winter War KS' whereby I am just ordering trucks as add-ons to that kickstarter.

3 days 22 hours to go, and getting close to the next stretch-goal :-)

This is an excellent KickStarter if you are interested in (early) soviet trucks and other AFVs. As well as the vehicles CBRfigs lists, there is also the chance to get a T26 tabk, KhT-26 flamethrower, a komsomolets tractor and the Finish Vickers type E model B tank with bofors AT gun.

And recently added are Russian and Finnish infantry platoons at a great discount from buying them from Baker Company's website.

Yeah, well, there are still people from his last kickstarter waiting to see any trace of their Russian and Finnish infantry platoons. It's nice that he's selling more of them on another kickstarter and his website, but keep in mind he apparently hasn't yet provided all the ones he already sold a long time ago in different kickstarter.

@Albino - As far as I am aware quite literally the last backer who chose staged deliveries had their first parcel sent today. If you are a backer of Winter War and have not received your first shipment yet then I am sure Gav will want to hear from you ASAP.

All backers know about the casting machine saga , and hence the reason Gav has run this small kickstarter and he has been absolutely up-front about it, therefore I personally think it is entirely reasonable.

Of course no-one needs to back the kickstarter, that is the great thing about them.

Less than £300 now to the Finnish crews and less than £1,300 to the Radio Truck.

Also Gav has announced that 'backers' will be able to add to their kickstarter pledge after it has finished (should help prevent backers missing out on selecting any unlocked stretches with their original pledge).

More importantly (IMO) is that Gav has announced that he will be producing ALL the vehicles that are not unlocked during the kickstarter in the future.

Now I am off to the gym to train for arm-wrestling Gav into getting the SU-12 and Katyusha produced ASAP.

I have not received my winter war pledge. However, I am backing this kickstarter too because Gav has been so open about his casting problems and has replied to all emails I have sent to him in a timely manner. If the last one has gone out, I am excited to see if they are in the post this week.

Glad your Winter War 1st shipment turned up..

Now only 58 hours left of this kickstarter. We are all keeping our fingers crossed the Radio Truck gets unlocked, just over £1,200 to go. Hoping today we might get some pictures from Canada of the Armoured Cars.

Well just 22 hours left of this kickstarter. It doesn't look like the SU-12 or Katyusha will be unlocked. But there is still chance to get in and get the discounted Platoons from the Winter War (Ruskies are 14% off and Finns are a huge 25% off).

Well the kickstarter is in its last 2 1/2 hours now, so it’s the last chance to join in folks.

As I sit here painting my 28 platoons each of Finns and Russians I wonder how many people who missed the Winter War kickstarter have managed to get the discounted platoons from this kickstarter.

As I sit here - still waiting for my Finns and Russians - I decided to skip this one since the trucks are quite expensive and I've got other stuff to spend my money on. Meanwhile the pushy shill who only comes to Dakka to pimp kickstarters brags about his new toys.

Gav seems a genuinely nice guy, but your passive-aggressive manner does him no favours, Bill.
