Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

Near the Eye of Terror, the Deathwing intercept a distress signal from the Imperial archeotech repository world "Coria". Garbled transmissions from the confused world mention demonic invasion followed by ghostly Astartes in regal azure blue plate murdering the weak planetary defense forces stationed on Coria. Visions of a dark sorcerer clutching a black book with a winged sword on the cover haunted the Dark Angels librarians in Belial's fleet for days before they arrived in orbit. Initial scans showed that the meager resistance was pacified in a single day, but the invaders did not take leave of the planet, nor did they fortify the museum area they had captured. It seemed as though they had no intention of staying or seizing the rest of the planet, as though they were waiting for something or someone..

Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

Have you guys seen how decimating Witchfires can be on units that would only be working with a 6+ DtW? Also, the Plasma Terminators? and why does everything have to be AP2? I'll throw some spawn at 5 Deathwing any day of the week. Hell, I'd throw a Rubricae unit at them too after a nice Rapid Fire just to lock them down for 4-5 turns in combat.

Thousand Sons have relentless via slow and purposeful, so they can move and shoot, and better than most marines in a sense.

My vote Ahriman, lots of psykers, good chances for doombolt, and I have a soft spot for Thousand Sons.

Ap 2 on sorcerers and terminators... Thousand sons can move and shoot just fine :/.

If sorcerers get some good telepathy powers or even just psychic shriek they can do some damage. Also, 2+ armor can still be taken down by volume of fire :/.

Hopefully herald gets misfortune!

Looks like I blew past some AP2 in the Thousand Sons list. Anyways it's still not enough, and I guess it's all dependent on the powers the psykers roll.

To the people saying a lack of ap2 weapons will be a problem, have you ever played vs deathwing?
They are 44 points a guy, for only double the durability of a space marine vs small arms fire. To say again, they are paying more than 3x the cost of a marine, for only 2x the protection. AP2 is not strictly needed here.
Also please note that each terminator squad has 2 TH/SS, your ap 1-2 weapons will only just cause him to roll 3++ saves instead.

I'm leaning more toward the DW winning, due to the amount of armour they are bringing, compared to the TS list's lack of capability to deal with it.
For anti armour they have melta bombs and screamers, both of these require you to be close, where you don't really want to be vs terminators. Lucky psychic powers might also get the job done.
The DW player has the advantage therefore that he may be able to keep his units safe behind the armour wall, and damage the chaos list, with little potential return fire.
