It's just weird. The venomthrope disappeared off the website like Tuesday or so of last week.

There's no way they'd take that out. We just got our new codex in Jan. If it's out of stock it's out of stock. I know some of us are hoping it's going to plastic instead of finecast, but who knows.

I do not work for GW in any fashion. When I edit my post, either I've misspelled something, punctuation, or I'm fixing swearing. Oops.

Tell that to the ten or so topics about this I've seen that lead to asking GW and then creating this topic.

If you feel it's worth a news post you can take it, I was just trying to curb the multiple threads about the topic here.

Most companies like back orders because it helps create a more realistic forecast for your next production run.

Under UK consumer law, however, you must fulfil mail orders within 28 days. Perhaps GW can't manufacture in small enough quantities to let them take back orders.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

They do have stuff that has goes Out of Stock for near a month, so perhaps with all the new model kits that's gotten even worse.

I'm hoping they reach the tipping point where expanding production isn't a money sink for them pretty soon.

Because an out of stock tag and grey out is too difficult.

When you have no plans of continuing to produce the model in that particular medium or to produce that model period, why bother?

Or when they have no intention to make it any time soon. My money is on them eventually getting around to it, just don't hold your breath cause it's gonna be a loooooong time.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

The posh Knight decal sheet went unavailable for a bit (which I had a vested interest in as my box one fell victim to a coffee spill and the ones on eBay were sporadic and a tad too rich for my blood) and I suspected they'd sold out and that was that.

They've recently become available again though, so it really is baffling as to exactly what criteria the SKU needs to fulfil to be listed as unavailable, rather than "ships in x weeks" when OOS, considering GW have almost total control over their own production for almost everything they sell.

We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't. - Frank Howard Clark
