Its been said that 40k stuff is like drugs, which armies are which drug.
Ork are obviously alcohol
Eldar are chain smokers
Chaos is acid
Imperial Guard players are for people who are pay attention to detail, their on speed
Necrons go with Herion
and for some reason the sisters of battle cocaine.
Everyone who plays these games has smoked weed at least once so I won't add it in this list.

I think guard is more of an adderall habit. Doing one thing over and over again compulsively without stopping with a limitless stream of compulsive energy over time. That's the only way you can make a guard army (especially a foot guard army) after all. No spray and wash and done. No. I've got to do all the buckles and all the belts and all the eyes and all the metal parts and the camouflage and then I have one done so its time to start the next one where I do the buckles and the belts and the eyes and the metal parts and the camouflage which is just in time for me to start the buckles on the next one so that I can work on the...

Speed seems too much like flipping over cop cars and then roaring in inhuman rage as six police officers hit you with tasers simultaneously and you refuse to go down.

In other words, speed sounds like CSM. At least the khorne part.

And yes, eldar are clearly chain smokers. Writing endless sad, neurotic poetry in never-ending free-verse with the help of eight packs of Newport Lites a day.

I thought Cocaine was Dark Eldar.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

They do, and Slaanesh does Dark Eldar. Ergo, Slaanesh does cocaine

This is probably the single most accurate post I've ever read about creating a foot horde IG army. Now find somewhere to fit in "searching old man historical wargaming sites for scheme and camo inspiration" and we're all set

I'm trying to think of something to fit Tau. Not being all that familiar with illegal drugs I'm rather bad at it. I would imagine they would be comparable to some nice depressant/relaxant to keep you calm and docile with a smile plastered on your face while you unload godlike firepower into those that oppose the Greater Good.

Could also explain why they're so bad in close combat...

Actually, I think marijuana is perfect for tau.

They sit around enjoying anime, never getting up or moving anywhere. Meanwhile, they're extremely forgetful. Cover saves? What's cover saves? Night fighting? What's night fighting? Close combat? What's close combat? I don't remember ever seeing one of those before.

And then, at the end, the gather all the kroot together and gorge themselves on buckets of fried chicken.

The only drugs I do are my perscription meds.

And I try to find any excuse to not take them because they're god damn disgusting.

The Tyranids are junk food. You know it's bad for your health, you know you might want to try something healthier, but damn if it doesn't taste good and damn if you don/t eat it by the truckload.

Nah, they brew beer from, and eat squig's which are technically orkoid.so I doubt they would have any problem munching back a hallucinogenic mushroom.
