So my pal came over today and we decided after much talk that a battle was in hand, as he had not brought his usual GK army I lent him my Eldar, we kept things small due to limited space and time. So 500 points was amassed on each side and the battle was set:

Mission - Relic:
Eldar warlord trait - Re-roll all saving throws of 1
Chaos warlord trait - Dust of a thousand worlds (Move through cover 12" bubble)

Chaos Force
Spoiler:

Warlord
Lord - Mok, Jugger, Aura dark glory, Power axe, GoM (Grants Shrouded) - 150

5 CSM - Flamer - 80
Rhino - 35
5 CSM - Flamer - 80
Rhino - 35

Vindicator - 120

TOTAL = 500

Eldar Force
Spoiler:

Warlord
Farseer - 100 (Prescience, Perfect timing, Scriers gaze)

5 DA - 65
Wave Serpent - tl-scat, holofields - 135
5 DA - 65
Wave Serpent - tl-scat, holofields - 135
TOTAL = 500

Deployment
Spoiler:

Turn 1
Spoiler:

Chaos go first and Eldar fail to seize. Both forces move up and cause little to no damage due to night fighting. The Rhino did immobilise itself on the terrain then we remembered the Chaos warlord trait, move through cover with in 12".

Turn 2
Spoiler:

The vindi takes of a hull point from the furthest wave serpent, its shield downgraded the penetrating shell. Whilst one of the Rhinos boosts up into terrain. The eldar on the chaos flank tear a Rhino to pieces with twin-linked laser shots and shield to boot, the CSM spill from their wrecked transport and pass their pinning test. The relic is right next to them.

Turn 3
Spoiler:

The Csm fresh from the wreckage grabs the relic and runs back towards their deployment zone. While the Rhino that moved forward in the previous turn comes back down to BLos to the Csm holding the relic. The Vindi does no damage a scatters wildly off target, and the lord successfully charges the flanking wave serpent with a 11" charge thanks to fleet . He easily destroys the serpent with his attacks.
The Eldar move forwards a little and the Farseer cast Prescience on his unit, the second wave serpent destroys the second rhino and the Csm inside also pass their pinning check and try hide out of sight .

Turn 4
Spoiler:
[
The Chaos lord decides to dive into cover and get some use from his shrouded ability as per the the boon roll. The Csm shuffle a bit and then run to better positions, while the vindi takes out some Dire avengers from the wreckage.
The Farseer cast prescience on his own unit as well as Perfect timing, the other functional Serpent moves over to the Lords position and unloads its cargo, the Farseers unit uses Battle focus and duly removes the Lord from the battle. They scored 2 rending wounds and 3 Normal wounds of which the Lord failed all of his saves. The other DA then Battle focus into the Ruins.

Turn 5
Spoiler:

Sorry for lack of pics in this one we had a short break and forgot where we were.
The Csm without the relic stay where they are and take a few pot shots at the DA but cause no wounds, the Csm who have the relic run up to support them.
The Farseer cast prescience on the DA that took fire and then runs up support. The Wave serpent kills the Vindi by glancing it to death. We rolled for the continuation of the game and get a 4, looks like Eldar will have another crack at killing these Marines.

Turn 6
Spoiler:

The Chaos hunker down ready to protect the relic with their unholy lives. The DA move up and get into a fire fight with the Csm, while the serpent grabs line breaker and lines up shots at the Csm behind the wall. They duly kill 2 of the Marines with combined fire (some of the worst rolling I have ever seen in 40k) but the Csm hold their ground. We roll for game again and get a Turn 7. This will be interesting.

Turn 7
Spoiler:
We rolled the dice and the game continued

The Csm kill all of the DA with rapid fire, and then await the last turn of the game. The Farseer again cast Prescience and Perfect timing. His last warp charge is used to stop a perils. They move up and battle focus through the terrain. His unit kills 2 more Csm who fail their morale and run. Unfortunately its not the relic holders, that privilege will go to the Wave serpent holding line breaker. He fires the tl- scatters and scores 3 wounds the shield then scores another 4 wounds, but it was not enough, the Marines armour was to much for the shots to get past and they saved every single shot.

Scores/ Summary
Spoiler:
Chaos = 3 (Holding the relic)
Eldar = 3 (First blood, Line breaker, Warlord)

A surprising and hard fought draw.
I for one thought the Eldar had this one in the bag after Turn 2-3, their fire power was just so disgusting at this points level. But Chaos did themselves proud and held on in their until Turn 7. Neither of us expected a 7 Turn battle at this level, but strange things happen when you roll dice.

Eldar MVP
My pal nominated his Farseer, not only were his powers a great buff to his small units but thanks to a well cast perfect timing he was able to help kill off the Chaos lord, who with shrouded would of had a 2+ cover save in the ruins.

Chaos MVP
This has to go to the CSM that held the relic for the entire battle. They shrugged off so much fire power and really laid the hurt to those DA in final stages of the game. Abaddon and the Gods will truly be blessing these fellows dark hearts. An upgrade to chosen is going their way me thinks.

After much talk? More like fist-fighting and smack talk.
I always get ties, kind of annoying hahah.

"The Csm fresh from the wreckage grabs the relic and runs back towards their deployment zone."

Not sure if that's just poor wording or not, but you cannot run with the relic.
Also Wave serpents do not grant linebreaker, as they are vehicles. Only non-vehicle scoring or denial units give linebreaker points (Big Guns/Scouring not withstanding). That means it was actually a CSM victory.

Yep, you can't run with a relic and it must be picled at the end of the movement phase.

Ok, so it appears we made a mistake with the csm running with the relic.
I think this just seems silly that you cant run while holding the relic but it is perfectly ok to jump into a transport with it.

Just stupid if you ask me.

As for the line breaker rule we always play it so vehicles can claim it, its one of our house rules.

On a side note, I think you have the same carpet as me.

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

It makes sense to me. Same concept as running with scissors. They are physically able to, but their parents told them not to. Even when it's in a transport it can only ever move 6 inches per phase so they're still taking it slow so as to not damage the relic. In cases where models can move in other phases while not specifically "running", they are safely attatched to some sort of vehicle, and still only moving 6 inches. Interesting house rule on the linebreaker vehicles though. How did that come about?

Lol that is epic

It was a decision we made to try and add some more flexible tactics to the game when using vehicles. Some times it works other times it does not. In this case it seemed to have worked in the Eldar favour.
Now I come to think of it, a drop pod heavy list would really benefit this house rule. The lols
